I was born in Utah, raised in Miami, Florida but have lived near Boone, North Carolina for the last twenty seven years. It is my dream location and I would never give up my home but I DO want to see the rest of the world. I LOVE Airbnb. I spent six weeks in Italy last summer with my best friend and we stayed solely at Airbnb places. We had an amazing experience! I love to experience the world and its people in all the expression of their individuality! I love art, music, theater as well as gardening, nature and animals! I have raised four sons and am raising one grand daughter. Some day I would like to come to Europe with her!
By the time she has graduated from high school, and I have paid off my mortgage, I plan to do some SERIOUS traveling!! For now, I limit myself to trips that are mostly less than a couple weeks. In the mean time, I love hosting my guests from all over the state, country and world! You all bring the world to me! So know that you are more than welcome!
Hmm. Do I have a life motto? I guess it would be to make every effort to live without regrets! I always try to prioritize my opportunities by this- do today what will not be available to you tomorrow! I home schooled my four boys for sixteen years, during which time I took care of three family members for a total of ten of those years. That is why the rooms are named after "Grandma" (my paternal Grandmother) and "Grammie" (my mama) and of course now, for Savanna, my 13 year old grand daughter who I have raised for the past eleven years, since my oldest son passed away. There are no regrets in those choices.
I am also a writer and am working on a book of poetry/narrative and art. It will be called "Good Grief" if i ever finish it! I am presently taking a class at the local Jr College on computer art. I am learning the skills I will need to design the pages of my book with visual creativity. When someone loses a child, there seems to be a dearth of comforting materials, so I hope to create something beautiful that will be a comfort to those in need.
