The house has three of us - myself, Rachel, an image-based artist, and Natalie, a digital artist.
I have AirBnB'd before, in the place I used to live in Brighton (and the reviews you’ll read are from this time, with ones for the new place to be added as people come to stay), and I always use AirBnB now when I travel and I’ve made some great friends along the way as both a host and as a guest.
I am an arts and culture consultant and writer, and PhD student, specialising in visual arts, architecture, tactical urbanism, placemaking and urban theory. If that doesn’t mean anything to you straight-away, I basically help artists and arts organisations do what they do, and I start and study projects that are based in the arts that help bring communities together, along the lines of guerrilla gardening but with the arts and artists.
We’re in a great area of Brighton, central and just 600m from the train station and close to bus stops too, in an area that has its own village feel yet is just on top of the Laines, Preston Circus, close to Hove too and to the high street shopping areas – with the beach just a five minute walk away. The road we are on is wide, tree-lined and really quiet.
I have lived in Brighton for 20 years – it’s a great little city with something for everyone, every night of the week. If you don’t know the place, I’d be happy to make bespoke suggestions for things to do and places to go during your stay.
Brighton is a vibrant, cultured, cosmopolitan city with lots of arts and cultural activities on the doorstep, great shopping and restaurants and a great base to explore London, the south east and surrounding countryside and rest of the UK.
