The host was friendly and accommodating. The room rates were more than reasonable considering the location's nearness to New York City. The room was clean and comfortable as was the bathroom. Air conditioning was included. The bedroom could use a stuffed chair as sitting or wooden chairs or a bed can be tiresome. Other than that you can't beat the room for the price.
As a host, Patrick is welcoming. He offered his kitchen for cooking as well as his fridge for storage for whatever. The easiest way to describe the room would be to say "you get what you pay for". There are mouse traps in a few corners. One helluva breeze through both windows in the winter.
The stay would have been 90% improved with one thing. -A clean bathroom. I'm sorry, but I've used cleaner gas station bathrooms. C'mon. It's gross. So much mildew on the shower curtain it looked like lipstick. Thick and filmy whatever around the tub. Eeew. Fifty bucks a day should at least include a clean bathroom.
Great location, great host. Highly Recommended
WYSIWYG: what you see is what you get.
Looking for a bare-bones, spartan, and inexpensive place to crash for a couple nights? If you don't mind a few mouse traps and moldy shower curtain, this is the place!
Patrick is an excellent host, with reliable communication via email, phone, and SMS. After picking up my keys for the weekend, I had no trouble whatsoever with the doors or locks.
Very convenient cobble hill location. Steps to the subway.
Clean spacious room with a big closet.
Patrick was very attentive to all my needs.
Expect to get the key and not hear from him again even when you couldn't get in in the middle of the night with a bunch of homeless standing around you. I ended up having to find a McDonald that opens 24/7 and told them my situation cos every hostels were full(it was on the weekend) I called n texted him a trillion times that I had problem getting in. I heard nothing back until 9.30 next morning. Thanks for calling back, it didn't help. Thanks for letting me spent the night @mcdonald. I couldn't have done that w/o you.
