It was a very pleasant stay + the location was great. It was very quiet also. Due to some circumstances I had to find a place to stay in urgent for the same day and Dawn answered to my inquiry immediately. Thanks!
What a relaxing little space. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dawn was great--she even had breakfast munchies for us! We chatted with Dawn during our stay and just wanted to thank her for her great hospitality and words of wisdom!
Accommodating host, good experience, would stay again
Dawn is a great host, very welcoming. She very kindly offered us a lift in her car up to Santa Monica on the afternoon we arrived.
The garden cottage is private and comfortable, if a little basic but that is reflected in the reasonable price of the accommodation. Coffee percolator and coffee provided. Though not included I the rates, Dawn offered us croissants and pastries and fruit on our first morning. Very nice! Thanks Dawn.
My boyfriend and I stayed in the little cottage behind dawns house a few weekends ago. It was nice and cozy, though a bit musty (since it's near the ocean, there's a lot of moisture in the air). Dawn made us an amazing breakfast the first morning. We all ate together and shared good conversation. She was super nice and accommodating. There was tea, coffee, and bottled water in the cottage for us. The room was comfortable and the shower was good. It's also a good distance from the beach.
This was my first experience with Airbnb. If this is an example of how it is then I'm sold. Great place and Dawn is a wonderful host and a wonderful person. I would definitely come back!
Dawn's place was the perfect spot for our little Venice getaway. The house is decorated very lovely, and clean. There's a backyard where you can relax and read your book in the sun.
The location is perfect. It's couple of minutes walking to Abbot Kinney, where all the cool boutiques, cafes and restaurants are, as well as Washington blv. and Marina Del Ray.
You can walk to Venice Beach boardwalk either thru Washington, and find some great bars and restaurants along the way, or walk thru Abbot Kinney.
Dawn, had prepared the house with all the details, that I, as an airbnb host myself, got ideas from ;)
She was kind enough to leave us some breakfast pastries, coffee and all, as well as a very useful binder with maps to the area.
Other then Venice, we also visited the Getty Museum, which was 30 min. drive away, and Malibu again, 30-40 min drive from the coast.
I would highly recommend this space if you are visiting LA.
It's quiet, peaceful, and yet so close to great fun places.
I miss it already!
Cute little cottage at the back of Dawn's house. Loved that it was little bit seperate from Venice beach! Loved the little snacks Dawn organised! I was travelling on my own so and had no idea about the area I was staying in and had no real idea of how big LA is. It really nice (even thought she was a away) that Dawn went out of her way to message me to make sure that I has having fun. A couple of things I loved of the area was 1. Taking a bike ride from Venice beach to Santa Monica. 2. Checking out Manhattan Beach & 3. Hiring a car. LA is huge so seriously, hire a car! Complete fun! Especially for an Aussie girl... Driving on the wrong side of the road is a bit of a thirll! Loved driving up the coast and also finding myself lost amoung the ridiculously huge mansions of Beverly Hills.
Dawn is a GREAT
Host. She went above and beyond and really made my stay in Venice.
Dawn was a wonderful host! We planned this trip on extremely short notice, and she was more than accommodating. The home is an easy walk to shopping and the beach, yet in a nice, quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed our short trip to Venice Beach and would highly recommend Dawn as a host. After our stay there was a bit of a mix-up with our payment through the website, and Dawn notified me of the mistake before I had even noticed it. I appreciate her attention to detail and quick response for us.
