I live in Roma Italy. But I'm from Paris. I was an airline stewardess now retired.
We, my boyfriend Tobias and I, just came home from the most beautiful vacation in Nice - very well accompanied by Maurilia's central, cute apartment!
We arrived in the evening and was welcomed by Maurilias downstairs-neighbor and friend - in a warm, friendly French. We don't speak the language, but with smiles and hand signals we did fine in understanding each other. He had even bought us some French breakfast sweets, juice, milk and nescafé on behalf of Maurilia!
Entering the stairway and taking the elevator is an experience itself! It was so beautiful that I had to spam Instagram with it. ;) The apartment is small and low-ceilinged - but that only adds charm to the place. We loved it's Niçoise style, Maurilia has a good taste - and the smaller windows provides you with beautiful views over the rooftops. It has everything you need - and it can't get any more central both to the beach and to the old, vibrant town.
The communication with Maurilia has been splendid - we got the information needed, a welcoming e-mail both before and during our stay. Maurilia is a warm and nice person. She even came from Rome in time to say hi to us - and she let us leave our luggage in the apt. until evening on the check-out date.
To Maurilia: Thank you for facilitating a personal, beautiful experience in Nice for us! We won't hesitate to contact you again when traveling to Nice, Rome or Sardinia. :)
Recommendations to other travellers:
- Café Marché - delicious brunch, also for the sleepy ones
- Comptoir du Marché - we had dinner; the Langostines and the Tartare was amazing!
- Lou Pistou - we had dinner; small, cozy and very local - we couldn't resist the profiteroles for dessert
- Oui, Jelato - definitely the best ice cream in town! OMG, we had to go back every single day. ;)
We had a lovely stay at this apartment. The location was just fantastic; it was in the center of Old Town and right on the beach. It was located near many great restaurants and bars that we frequented during our stay. Despite being in the center of Old Town, there were no noise issues as the apartment is located on the top floor of the building.
The building itself is beautiful, secure, and has a functioning elevator, which was very convenient for us. The apartment was cozy, with more than enough room for a couple. It was very clean when we arrived. It had great functioning A/C and WiFi, which were important for us. The apartment, situated on the top floor, had a great view of Old Town.
Maurilia was very kind, responsive, and accommodating. Overall, I can't recommend this apartment enough. If we're ever back in Nice, we won't hesitate to stay here again! Thanks, Maurilia!
The apartment was really good and the host was SO nice, helpful and kind! The terrace has an astonishing view and the beach is really close. All in all, it was a great holiday. Totally recommendable! And thanks again to Maurilia!
Response from Maurilia:
Tank you very much!
Hope to meet you again someday somewhere....
We loved Maurilia's house in Golfo Aranci. The photographs didn't do the house justice. The living space is simple, comfortable with a fantastic view over the Golf Aranci. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay at Maurilia's house again (if she allows us to of course). Grazie per una splendida vacanza vi!
As a young couple, our stay at Maurilia's apartment was excellent! We had good communication leading up to the stay, and a flexible check-in and check-out time, which was good because we were driving to and from Nice, allowing us to arrive and leave when it suited us. We were met at the apartment and shown how everything works, she is a very nice person! Although we forgot to ask for restaurant and activity tips. We had an early check out at 7.30am, so we were able to leave our keys in the mailbox of her neighbour without any fuss. The apartment is easy to find, and the location is almost unbeatable, 1 row back from the beach, and along the main 'touristy' street of the Old Town. Easy access to everything we needed and wanted to see in Nice, and not very noisy at all at night, even though it is above an Irish Pub. Supermarket, restaurants, wine cellars, bars etc were all 1-2 minutes away. The apartment itself is quite small, but the space is utilised well, with enough space for 2 people, but using the foutons for extra people would be quite cramped I think. Everything in the flat worked fine, shower, fridge, internet etc. The view from the windows was good, looking onto old town, although a little limited due to size of the windows. The elevator up to the 4th floor is quite small, only just fitting 2 people with bags, and then there is another small staircase to climb before getting to the apartment level, which was not a problem for us.One thing to note though, is that the bed linen and towels cost extra.
We spent a fantastic week (except for the weather) in Maurilias nice house. Everything was great and the view was even better then the photos. The area is really nice with walking distance, 150 meters to a fantastic beach and close to a food store. There are some really nice and genuine restaurants in the centre of Golfo Aranci.
This is a perfect place to be with a family. Quiet, private and great surroundings. You need a car to get must out of it.
The apartment was very clean and charming. The house have all the basic facilities you need.
We would love to come back to Sardinia and Maurilias house!

The hosts are very kind, and willing to fix any problems you have quickly. The apartment is clean. The main drawback is that the place is far from the main attractions or other amenities by public transport, it would be the ideal location for someone who has a rental car or who can afford to pay taxis.
