I am in my late 50s. Born in NYC, I've lived in Philadelphia, PA and worked at The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University for over 30 years. My academic background in in paleontology and my specialty is in natural history collections management. I am an avid knitter and folk dancer. I love cooking and eating interesting food (I flatter myself that I'm a bit of a "foodie.") I've been married to Ray Scheinfeld, also a geologist, for almost 30 years. Ray is a serious bicyclist-- a daily commuter (30 mile round trip, all year long) and we always travel with at least on bicycle. Sometimes we camp when we travel, but sometimes (particularly when I anticipate uncomfortable weather conditions) we like a little more comfort and love to stay at B & Bs. We've had a good experience with AirBnB. Ray and I are reasonably quiet, but as sociable as you'd like us to be. We love to get to know a bit about the folks who host us, but will be sensitive to the feeling we get from our host about how much they care to engage with us.
