The flat is really lovely, a lot of space and it is very clean, obviously a new apartment. The location is also great, easy walking distance to the square and shops, and even a pharmacy a minute away.
The hardest part for us was communicating with Carina who is very slow to respond. And because an error has occurred during the booking process it was very stressful communicating with Carina. Even getting information about how to access the flat was stressful because of the time delays and with barley any time before we were due to arrive in Leuven. Emails to AirBnB didn't help much either, so we ended up having to call AirBnB twice who then chased up Carina. However the communication we eventually did get from Carina was always polite and helpful.
The instructions to getting into the flat for the first time are a little confusing, the garage door is just next to the shop on the corner for future visitors. Once inside the keys and control for the garage were all perfectly fine.
The lounge has a corner sofa which has a wobbly backrest and arms so don't be tempted to sit on the edges! There was also no DVD player unfortunately.
The kitchen appliances are of a high standard, although it would be helpful to have a few more kitchen utensils.
Plenty of cutlery and crockery however.
The bedrooms are a good size although the beds were not particularly comfortable. The wardrobes are a very large with plenty of hangers, dressing robes, and extra useful ikea organiser boxes on the shelves. There are lots of towels and extra bedding too for the pull out bed under the single bed (NOT a sofa bed as described.)
The bathroom is a great size with a corner bath, a large separate shower and his and her sinks. There is a rather nasty smell from the bathroom however which smells like problem with the drains. It really hit us when we first went into the flat and also anytime you are using the sinks. There is a separate toilet.
We had a lovely stay and I would recommend this place. It's a shame about the difficulties with the communicating and the smell in the bathroom, otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars.
Carina's apartment is very cosy, clean and well located. We loved our stay in Leuven, the city is as lovely as Carina's place.

Carina's apartment is absolutely lovely, spotlessly clean and very modern and spacious. Big kitchen, dining table and comfortable sitting area, and two bedrooms with very comfortable beds (the 'sofa bed' mentioned is actually a spare mattress kept under one of the beds in the second bedroom, but it was perfectly comfortable).
The apartment is very well located, in a modern, secure building with a lift, just two minutes walk away from Oude Markt and all its bars, but is quiet.
If you're disturbed by light when sleeping, take an eye-mask. The blinds barely even make an attempt to keep out light, and mean the bedrooms are flooded with light in the morning.
Carina's instructions were very comprehensive, though there were initial delays in receiving the information, leading to some worrying moments in the days prior to the trip. Self-service checking in was an easy process, if a little convoluted accessing through the carpark initially, though it's a shame the checkout time is so early (10am).
Overall though, highly recommended for its great location and comfortable, spacious accommodations.
Communication with Carina was not always timely (presumably due to time zone difference) and was left wondering until the last 12 hours both at initial booking and extension booking whether I had a roof over my head or not. To the extent that both late eve before arrival and on the morning of arrival, I spent 2 x 1.5hrs back and forth with Airbnb customer service to ensure the booking went ahead as agreed with Carina.
But when Carina did communicate, she was friendly, helpful and informative.
The apartment itself is fabulous. Very spacious, clean, uncluttered yet cosy and very well equipped in a quiet location near the old center of Leuven, plenty of restaurant options nearby, an ATM on the corner and a Delhaize within 2 mins walk to boot. Underground parking and spacious outside terrace definitely a welcome bonus, as is the flexible self-check in/check out.
I spent time there due to a family member being at Gasthuisberg hospital, which is an easy 8 mins drive away, as is the main motorways.
As others mentioned, the bedroom blinds leave to be desired as they don't block out the light in the morning. Also, the WC light failed from day 2, the code for the communal outside door downstairs after hours did not work, nor were Leuven bin bags available as promised. Together with the slight communication issues wrt booking/extending, these are the minor annoyances that cause me to score 4* instead of what would otherwise have been a well-deserved 5*.
On the other hand, Carina was flexible wrt late booking, extending my stay and late check out. Thank you:-)
Overall a very pleasant stay and excellent value for money, especially when you compare the facilities and space with any nearby 4* hotel, where all you get is a bed, a desk, 1 comfy-ish chair, no or paid parking and dependency on forking out on restaurants or roormservice to boot.
Fantastic apartment. So close to the Oude Maart (bars, restaurants) and the beautiful heart of Leuven, yet tucked away enough to be quiet. Very helpful host left clear instructions on access. Highly recommended.
Due to some delays in travel our arrival was a bit late but this was no problem due to the self service check in which itself felt like a treasure hunt at first but the prize was well worth it - a gorgeous apartment that was well equipped and ideally located. We had zero problems with any of it and would love to stay there again our next time in Leuven - highly recommended!
This is a very comofortable and convenient appartment. Cozy and fully equipped. My family and I like it very much. However, as the curtain in the two bedrooms can't really block out the sun light in the early morning, we weren't always awakened early, which is a bit annoying especially when we get back from a long tiring trip. The last thing as a reference for people who might want to go visiting there in the summer, try to avoid the weekend of the Market Rock in Leuven. There were groups of people talking, shouting, singing and drinking beer down the windows of the bedrooms of the apartment. No one could stop them unless you call the police or join them.
All in all, thank you Carina for the lovely apartmnet that brings my family very good memories.
I stayed at Carina's apartment for four months while I was studying in Leuven during the summer. The apartment was absolutely perfect for my stay - it included all the amenities I could have wanted to make getting settled easy (linens, cookware, insuite laundry) and make it feel like home. Some of my favorite features of the apartment were the extremely comfortable bed, the deep bathtub (I did a fair bit of cycling while I was there, and a nice bath in the evening was a great way to relax), having a printer (very convenient for printing out train tickets) and the beautiful views over Heverlee in the evenings.
Carina was extremely helpful, easy to communicate with and was always responsive to my inquiries. Check in was simple (the concierge met me out front of the building), as was check out. She provided brochures and information about Leuven and other Belgian cities, which was very helpful. I also had a monthly cleaning service included, and that always went very smoothly and was appreciated.
Heverlee itself was a great place to stay. I rented a bike at the main train station, and so getting to the city centre only took about 10 minutes - I would highly recommend this for longer stays (you can also go by bus or walk to the centre, which takes around 20-30 minutes). There is a market close to the Heverlee station (about 5 minutes walking from the apartment) on Sunday mornings. The apartment is also walking distance from groceries stores (10 minutes), bakeries (5 minutes) and restaurants (5 minutes - I really liked Via Via). If you like walking, you can easily get to Castle Arenberg and explore the Heverleebos (a forest with many trails for running, walking or cycling).
Overall, I had a great experience staying in this apartment and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Leuven for a short or long stay - it really does become a home away from home. Thanks Carina for a great stay!
The flat is exactly as shown on the pictures. It is well located, in a nice calm area, but still close to everything in the center. It is safe, clean, and fully equipped you will find everything you need to feel at home. The wifi was extremely fast. Carina's appartment is your number one choice for an unforgettable stay in the area.
