Magician by day, musician by night.
Originally born in NYC, an only child in a small family, I grew up in Miami, Florida. Having studied photography and business at MDCC, I've been back in NYC for 21 years now and so, I am very much a New Yorker. (You twalkin' ta me?)
I've been a working artist in the city since 1992 originally setting out here to pursue my early career as a professional fashion photographer. I moved to DUMBO with a vision to have my own live/work studio space and pursue a non profit art gallery endeavor I founded in 1996, Avenue A Gallery. More than two decades in NY is a long time though, and things in life tend to shift.
These days I work as a live bandleader by night and professional magician by day. I owe much to my years living in DUMBO because it has been a great catalyst for creative growth in my life and career.
Dumbo taught me about building my own place too. I built the loft you see here with my own two hands and lots of blood, sweat, and tears. And let me not forget with a little help from my (DUMBO) friends as well.
Currently, I've. been living in the same loft since 1998 and I've seen all the changes in DUMBO first hand. I'm a single father of a beautiful four year old little girl now that lives with me part of the week. She's a great addition to my life and my home.
Between my daughter, my performing career and my do-it-yourself Brooklyn loft, I'm a very busy New Yorker too. These days I spend my time teaching my daughter as much as I can about life and art and chasing performing opportunities when I'm not up on a ladder fixing the disco ball or coaxing a runaway magic dove from out of the ceiling rafters.
Thanks for reading and checking out my loft space.
