Jamie and Nigel have also both worked and traveled internationally including places like Africa, China, Mexico, and Australia. We enjoy a healthy lifestyle, supporting local agriculture, gardening, cooking, participating in outdoor activities year round (hiking, canoeing, camping, x-country skiing), and spending time with our one year old chocolate lab Cedar.
Nigel works as a Watershed Planner with Conservation Halton a local conservation authority. In this position, I'm responsible for the preparation of watershed studies and plan updates and implementation of restoration of watersheds. In this role, he also assist with the conservation area projects as well as habitat and species at risk restoration projects. Nigel has a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo focusing on ecology, with a minor in Biophysical Geography. He has previously worked for the Canadian Wildlife Service, Nature Conservancy of Canada, Parks Canada at Grasslands National Park and Environment Canada.
Jamie is a Natural Areas Technician with the City of Mississauga. He coordinates naturalization and restoration projects on City-owned land and engages local community groups to volunteer on these projects. He has a Master of Science in Geography from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) in Environmental Biology from Dalhousie University. He has worked in agricultural stewardship for two conservation authorities and for the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources.
