Rory Lynch’s educational, business and traveling experiences taught him the responsibilities and joys of being a citizen of the world. Born and raised in Western Sonoma County wine country on his family’s apple ranch, he grew up amidst hard working farm laborers and people who loved the land. Rory decided to expand his intellectual talents at college and to explore diverse cultures as a world traveler.
At Sonoma State University Rory focused on economics and social sciences. He spent a year abroad immersed in the study of international and agricultural business in New Zealand that set the foundation for a life’s work blending the land and finance. Upon completion of his B.S. in accounting and marketing, Rory again hit the road. During his travels --- done mostly by bicycling --- he has explored the great cities and back roads of Europe, Asia Minor, and Northern Africa.
Upon returning to the rich lands of Northern California, Rory bought a home near St. Helena and started sharpening his tools of accounting and his knowledge of the wine business at G&J Seiberlich & Co, a premier wine industry CPA firm. It was in this position that Rory discovered his passion of working for socially responsible agricultural companies and applying his creative approaches to business.
Rory was the Director of Finance & Export as part of the Terra Valentine Winery team from 2006 thru 2011. He’s not your everyday accountant and you’ll find him at his best with his patented “grip & grin” --- which describes not only his social style but his enthusiasm for people. He promotes conscientious living in the community, served as a Parks & Recreation Commissioner for the City of St. Helena, and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Napa Valley Symphony Association.
Rory currently works at Nandha Wines in Napa Valley, California, where he is responsible for executing the operation of procuring wines for export to markets outside of the US.
