Amélie is a very nice host, being there for check-in in the appointed time, greeting us cordially with a delicious bottle of wine. She also took her time to explain the local attractions and to leave us indications of the best restaurants around, offering maps and books about things to do in the region. Her apartment, in a 18th century building, is very unique and conveniently located in the city, close to the centre and with good grocery stores nearby. There is also a nice park right behind the apartment with a playground.
That said, we, as a familiy with two young children needing a child friendly place (which the apartament description said it was), spent two very tense days there. Everywhere you look there is a precious looking antique perched upon a vintage piece of furniture. The note on the description about taking your shoes off not to disturb the neighbour downstairs does not really convey the idea that in fact the floor screeches and moves under your feet. The dining table chairs are ancient and coming a little too loose, so you have to sit carefully. Close to the dining table there is a very heavy statue that, considering the not so firm floor, might fall should a child stumble on it, which is potentially extremely harmful. The same goes for one of the shelves in the library/office: heavily loaded with books and inclined away from the wall.
Since it was raining outside we couldn't take the girls out in the park right behind the building, and our stay was absolutely awful, constantly telling the poor kids not touch things, not to jump because of neighbours and objects and so on...
The mentioned parking on premise is almost two blocks away from the building. In our case (we're in a two month long trip) that meant carrying heavy luggage in the rain while managing the kids for that distance, which was stressing to say the least.
One last thing: there was underwear left inside the washing machine.
There is probably a public to the apartment, but certainly not families with kids. I am sure Amélie meant no harm, since she was a very welcoming and helpful host, but she sould never have announced the place as "child friendly". Should we had known these details we would not have booked the apartment.
Appartement charmant ,bien situé, près de la Place Jaude dans un quartier (website hidden) literie de la chambre principale est de très bonne qualité.

Merci! Un bon séjour en Auvergne!
Great little apartment, very warm and well equipped. 10 minutes from the centre, nice and quiet with good supermarkets nearby.
Amelie was very friendly and even gave us a bottle of wine! We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
