A professional photo editor and photographer living bi-coastal. I spend half the year in Berkeley, CA and the other half in Brooklyn, NY.
Appartment is on the second floor of an old house with character, in a quiet street and perfectly situated for a visit to Washington.
About 30 min walk to the mall. Metro station is only a few minutes away. A small supermarket close by.
Good value for money, it has enough space with two separate bedrooms, a kitchen/living and a bathroom.
Interior is basic but adequate with some kitchen equipment, a cooking facility, coffee machine, microwave, t.v., good wifi connection.
We had some cold days but the heating was excellent and warm water supply was also very good.
Adreinne gave us a warm welcome still busy cleaning and when we asked for an extra key she immediately took care of that.
The apartment is cozy and is conveniently located near a metro stop. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful.
Adreinne was a great host and we enjoyed our time at The People's Place. The location was really great -- a block from Giant grocery and a few blocks from the Metro at Mt Vernon/Convention Center. It had a cozy set up with a family room and kitchen, and we really had no issues with heat or any of the amenities. It is on the 3rd floor and only accessible by stairs. This is definitely worth your stay.
Staying at Adreinne's place was a great experience. It was very clean and comfortable, with all the amenities you would expect from her description. We had a great time while in Berkeley and will definitely be back, hopefully staying here again. Adreinne was a communicative host and made sure to keep in touch with us while we were in town. We really appreciated her being available to answer questions if they had come up.
The apartment was just what we needed! It is quite close to Chinatown (approximately 15 minutes walk), clean, kitchen supplies etc. everything we needed was given and it's good value for the money we spent. Everyting went smoothly and the host was available anytime we needed help or assistance. A good grocery store is just opposite which was very convenient. We definitely enjoyed our stay!
The house is located near to my workplace and very quiet place. There is a Walgreens very nearby, which is good place to get something quickly. For food, there are few restaurants in walking distance. The house is nice and clean. Nice kitchen and laundry. The 2 bedrooms are nice, but, it could be warmer. Overall I would recommend the place for a short/medium stay.
I stayed at the Charming Brownstone for 10 days in winter. Although I never met Adreinne, communication worked flawlessly and check-in and check out were smooth. The area may appear a bit dodgy at first, but I found it quite safe and friendly. The apartment is comfortable and very close to a Subway station from which the C-Train that takes you to downtown Manhattan in 15 to 20 minutes. It can be a bit noisy as the Prospect Park shuttle train is very close above ground and the imam of the nearby mosque calls to prayer at 5:30 am every day. Heating, warm water and internet worked very well, and the Jacuzzi bathtub was a luxury extra. I found it a good point from which to reach Manhattan every day and good value for money.
A simple but lovely place to stay near all the fun and exciting places in D.C. Thanks for having an affordable and accessible place for young and old!
The place is clean with plenty of room. comfortable bed, high pressure water in the shower and a fully equipped kitchen. ceilings are a bit low which made it feel smaller, but there was plenty of room. Berkeley bowl is two blocks away and Walgreens around the corner, so shopping was very easy. Communication with Adreinne was minimal, but sufficient to get me in and coordinate when I left.
My stay at People's Place 3 was great. The apartment lay-out may seem a bit quirky but the place has everything you need for a short or long term stay in DC. It is close to the metro, which will take you downtown in mere minutes, but everything in downtown DC is also within 20-30 minutes walking distance.
The apartment was clean and Adreinne responded immediately to any issues and questions. All in all, a great base in DC.
Adreinne was a perfect guest: easygoing, warm, friendly, and respectful. Prompt communication as well. We'd love to have you back anytime Adreinne!
A beautifully appointed open space in a classic Brooklyn brownstone featuring original detail and all the comforts of home. The neighborhood is ideal, one of Brooklyn's most eclectic, diverse and happening. Near all services and steps from the subway (only 20 min to Manhattan!). Tastefully furnished and comfortable, its a great place to stay for an authentic NYC experience, you may not want to leave!
Adreinne's place is very nice and comfortable, and conveniently located.
I had the privilege of staying in this space and it was truly amazing! First of all, it is so conveniently located right across the street from the A and C subway lines (and the shuttle to connect with the 2,3, and 4 trains!!) which provided instant accessibility to anywhere I needed to travel in Manhattan!! I felt right at home inside the apartment. It was very spacious, modern and quite cozy. It provided all my needs while vacationing in New York, and was much better than staying in a hotel. It felt like home and I would highly recommend this space for travelers, especially those wanting to experience all that Brooklyn has to offer.
