I drew the short straw so I had to provide the host photo - apologies for the glasses but it was the first photo I came across that was vaguely ok!
Ian and I have lived in this area for about 12 years and it's a terrific environment. We are both retired though I still work a few days a week at a local winery. Ian was a geologist, but now plays a lot of golf, reads widely, cooks a lot, and generally has a very relaxed lifestyle. I was in education, and now, apart from work, spend time studying (I've recently gone back to university), am an opera enthusiast, and enjoy being within striking distance of Auckland City. We travel quite a lot: the last big trip was to the Kimberley in Western Australia; the next major adventure will be to Botswana. Apart from visiting family and friends we tend to look for more adventurous destinations both in New Zealand and further afield.
Spending time eating good food and drinking good (often local) wine with family and friends is probably the thing we enjoy most in life. We take in movies regularly, and both of us follow fairly closely what is happening in the rest of the world.
We offer guests the chance to have a private, relaxed stay in a part of our home that is well separated from the rest of the house. We'll provide all the information and help we can to make the time here as terrific as it should be.
