When I travel, I refuse to take organize bus tours (with the possible exception of The Sound of Music Tour). So why settle for a cookie-cutter hotel experience? I love finding new places, purchasing cheese, drinking coffee, stopping into stores, buying gifts, taking terrible pictures, reading magazines and the like while I'm on vacation.
I feel like most travel issues can be solved by just having a little common sense and courtesy. In a hotel, at a friends home or in an Airbnb, I treat my accommodations like I'm in my own apartment. I'm clean, quiet and I don't drink red wine or eat marinara sauce...so there is no chance I'll stain your white furniture.
Places on my must visit list for this year: Stockholm, Portland, Las Vegas, Paris, Oslo and Copenhagen.
And no, I don't have a life motto.
