Teacher in NYC, exploring the world.
Carl was an awesome host and the apartment was really nice. We had a great stay.
It's a perfect for two people. We didn't mind taking the train to the city which took about half an hour to Times Square. The apartment is located in a nice typical NY-style house right next to Inwood Hill Park. The subway station and a bigger supermarket are really close by.
Carl helped us right away when we had a problem even though he was on vacation himself.
Thanks a lot!
This place is perfect for one or two people, and I loved the area. I personally loved that it was the last stop on the train, which means you'll never miss getting off at the right place. My friend and I stayed over New Years weekend, and we had a blast. Car was a great communicator, the instructions were easy to follow and direct, and the place was set up so there was minimal hassle. I highly recommend staying here if you don't mind the commute and like a spot a little ways from the big city.
Carl is a great host. He comunicated fast and carefully explained every detail. His apartment is nice, clean and really not to far located from the city center. I can highly recommend a stay.
Carl had a great apartment in a beautiful area. It's super close to the park! He was a very understanding host and was very flexible in giving me the keys. I was flying into NYC at a time that he was leaving, so he was cool enough to drop off the keys at a ballroom dance studio for me. Go Carl! Because of a recent hurricane and rainstorm, there was a minor leak in the cealing, but Carl called the super and had it fixed ASAP. All in all, a great visit. Thanks Carl!
The apartment was clean and as described. Carl was easy to coordinate with and accommodating. I would recommend staying here.
My fiance and I were in NYC for a week, and we needed a place to sleep in some quiet area and also wanted to feel the city and culture from inside. Carl's apartment was perfect for our goal - located on Manhattan it's very quiet even though its windows face the street (nice city view by the way). Subway station is right around the corner, and is very convenient to get to the center. Kitchen is fully equipped, showing that the host likes to cook. The description of apartment is accurate, everything is clean. One moment - the bed in bedroom would be better for one not very tall person, a couple won't feel enough space. Everything else is great - you get all the necessary linens, towels, WIFI, and the host himself is very helpful, welcoming to call for help. We even got a list of Carl's favourite restauratns by the cuisine categories!
Great place, clean environment, friendly host and very solicitous for our comfort, extremely close to the A train, air conditioning made a pleasant (to say the least) relief from the scorching temperatures, easy access by car from the north, no issues with parking. Would definitely recommend the airbnb site as well as this specific apartment to friends. Thank you!
First experience with airbnb, first trip in NYC. This appartement is perfect. No problem, if we come back in this city, for sure we will contact Carl again !
Carl is a great guy and very responsible. Plus he's wicked smart at trivia!
Carl is warm, calm, and down to earth. He has a perfect ability to blend his sense of humor with his thoughtfulness which makes him a great friend. He is a thoughtful houseguest, and I have enjoyed both having him as my guest and being his.
ugh! first of all he's all kinds of awesome. he's smart enough to laugh at all my jokes and yet dumb enough to hang out with me whenever we are in the same city! He's also a super great baker... which means he is meticulous about details and yet is still flexible enough to experiment with recipes. In other words he colors "inside the lines", but he uses a bunch of colors. (unlike that crazy stacy wilson from the 3rd grade! she exclusively colored with the "thistle" crayon and had complete disregard for the borders on the artwork. i bet she works in marketing now.) were was i? any way carl is awesome and i don;t even know what this recommendation is for anyway because my ADD and dyslexia prevents me from caring or showing any real emotion in public, but that's neither here or there. @carl, if this is for one of those reality shows, just say NO! you will be bored off your ass and get voted off for reading a book during the entire first episode. seriously! you should maybe look into something like teaching in an inner city school. i hear it's super rewarding! anyway i hope you win whatever prize your up for, or get the rose, or trophy, or have $10,000 donated to your favorite charity... well you get the point.
