Our family stayed in this unique home & it was wonderful. Rebecca met us at the house & was extremely helpful. We were traveling by public transport & location was convenient to the bus. Kitchen very well equipped. Beds & rooms very comfortable. Would recommend this home! Especially loved seeing sloths & monkeys from the (email hidden)so many birds.
The house is incredible. Very private, nice pool. An awesome Costa Rican experience.
Thanks Andrew! Glad you had a great experience!
We stayed at Villa Tekla for 6 night in October 2014. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, the grounds were taken care of, and the housekeeper, Jacob, was attentive to our needs. The maid came in once and cleaned everything thoroughly, made the beds, and did our laundry. The house was larger than we had thought. The downstairs bedroom has a large double bed and the host was nice enough to provide both a crib and air mattress for our toddler. The downstairs bathroom is basic but has a toilet and shower with plenty of hot water. The living room area is quite larger with enough seating space for a large group. There's a comfortable hammock and ceiling fans. The whole house is open to the outside (there are bars for protection), though bugs weren't a big problem. The kitchen is very nice, everything worked perfectly, and there were enough implements to easily cook meals. The bedroom on the second floor also has a big double bed. The upstairs loft was set up with two twin beds, though the host asked if we wanted a double instead. The pool is great and very clean. It's surrounded by trees and we saw some monkeys on a couple days. There were pool toys for kids provided by the host. The only complaint from the guests was that the upstairs bathroom had very low hot water, and showers either needed to be lukewarm or at a trickle. But overall we had a great stay. We visited some friends at one of the luxury resorts that cost at least twice as much. It's luxurious but Villa Tekla feels much more homey and welcoming. The area is quiet, off the main road, and we walked to the bodega to get whatever we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
Thanks Adam! We will try to get that water problem fixed. Glad you enjoyed your stay and found it as home-y as we do!
If you plan on visiting the Manuel Antonio/Quepos region of Costa Rica, having your base of operations be at Villa Tekla is highly recommended! Every aspect of our stay there was fantastic. Tamara was super helpful and responsive to all our inquiries leading up to our arrival, and the property manager Rebecca made the check in process very informative, taking about an hour to talk us through local sight seeing options and know how, which we appreciated greatly. She also made herself available during our stay for any additional info we needed.
The property itself is exactly as the photos describe. It truly feels like you are staying in your own little private jungle oasis. The pool and deck area provide a gorgeous setting to enjoy dusk, and the open air feel made the experience feel so much more unique. It is located very close to all the wonderful restaurants and night life that Manuel Antonio has to offer, with both driving a rental car, or walking to the main road to grab a taxi being easy options for getting around.
We, my wife and two daughters, had a really good time here. The villa is extrodenairy! It is spacious and has a wonderful relaxing vibe to it. The house has no glass windows! Therefor you feel really close to nature. For some reason you are not bothered by insects, like you would expect, and the beds have mosquito nets. There is a big patio were we had our breakfast each morning. There is also a long pool, from which you look straight into the jungle. If you are lucky you see monkeys. What a great scene!
The house is located half way down the road from the town of Quepos to Manuel Antonio National Park. Quepos is not much of interest but the Manuel Antonio National Park is a must see. The beach there is one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. While you are sitting in the sand the monkeys jump over your head from tree tot tree.
There are a lot of restaurants and shops in the direct vicinity of the house.
The villa is managed by Rebecca, together with her husband Jacob. Due to some last minute changes in our travel schedule we made a reservation at the same day of our first stay. Therefor they had to do some last minute cleaning, which was no problem to them. The house was in a perfect condition! When we arrived Rebecca gave us a nice welcome and when the Internet went down Jacob went to great strength to get it up and running again.
Thanks Rebecca, Jacob and Tamara for a great stay!

My partner and I with our one year old son stayed at Tamara’s house for one week. We have nothing but the highest praise. Villa Tekla is exactly as represented on Airbnb. When we walked in it look familiar as it was spotless and impressive. We had a concern about no AC but it is really not a problem. You are literally backed into the rainforest and the trees help keep things a bit cooler and the fans are totally fine. The swimming pool definitely helps too! Sometimes the jungle comes in for a visit, but that is to be expected, and frankly part of the fun! If you’re looking for a complete privacy and love nature with the convenience of having the beautiful beaches and the town nearby than this is definitely the place for you! Rebecca, the property manager, provided us with the binder that contained all the necessary information about the house and the surrounding area, which we found to be very thorough and helpful. We would love to come back and stay longer next time. Thank you, Tamara and Rebecca!
Thanks Vlad! Happy to hear that you enjoyed your Costa Rican experience.... hope to see you back again!
Tamara and her family stayed in our apartment over New Year and they were very nice guests! The apartment was left in perfect conditons and all communiacation before and during their stay was very smooth. Welcome back any time!
A Tamara e o marido são absolutamente encantadores, gostei muito de os conhecer e de estar com eles quando nos encontrámos em Lisboa para as chaves e recomendações. A conversa fluiu com enorme naturalidade como se nos conhecessemos já
. Foi um prazer recebê-los.
Tamara and family are always very welcome to my apartment. It was a pleasure to host them. Despite I never met Tamara in person the comunication was very smooth and easy. I found them very nice and warm people.
At the end Tamara kindly sent me some notes on things to improve in the apartment. It's always good to know what guests feel.
Tamara left the apartment in great sahpe.
I strongly recommend Tamara as a guest.
It was super to host Tamara and her guests. They were respectful and lift everything as clean as a whistle!
C'était un vrai plaisir de vous recevoir en esperant que vous garderez toujours un bon souvenir de cette ville blanche et de votre passage
Vous êtes les bienvenus quand vous voulez revenir !
They were wonderful guest, they even did the laundry! Needless to say, I would love to have them back.
We are so thankful and pleased that Tamara & Ken stayed in Tozu. They are simply an amazing and interesting couple that made the best of their days here and have helped us to improve our services. Hope to see you again soon, you will always be welcome
We will be back.... You are all so lovely!
Tamara and her couple have been very great hosts. Great comunication, and they let the house absolutely perfect. Many thanks!
Tamara and her husband are very nice guests, very respectful, friendly and nice to talk to. I am happy to get to know them and I'll be happy to see them again.
