I was initially booked Pippa's place for 2 weeks but ended up staying for 3 weeks. I decided to go for airbnb this time as I knew this time work will be very demanding that I need to really relax when I come back. Pippa's place is in excellent location, the house is equipped and very comfortable. Pippa is very kind and generous host that she always made sure that I am well taken of. I would definitely recommend it to others and I would also want to come back to stay again. Thank you Pippa!
Yoko was a pleasure to host! She was easily reachable, really friendly and left the flat in great condition. I would definitely host her again and look forward to her next visit!
Once again, thanks to Pippa for a great lodging in Kampala. This is the 2nd time I stayed there, and will hopefully do so again. Anyone wondering about internet access, Kololo Courts Hotel (right across the street) has ok internet and good Chinese food; Prunes cafe (3 min walk) has good internet and great breakfast/brunch food!
A comfortable, clean, convenient and safe place to stay in Kampala. Pippa was organised and communicated well.
The home was very spacious and nicely furnished. Everything we needed was available. The location of the house is very central. Still the area is a bit strange as there is not many other residences, shops and restaurants in the neighborhood (except for the Chinese opposite the house and a great Thai 5 minutes walking). We only saw Pippa a few minutes, but communication with her through telephone and email was prompt and friendly. The guards working at the compound and the neighbors were also very friendly. The large garden surrounding the apartments made the place very relaxed! As there is no internet (yet) we bought a dongel which worked perfectly.
Pippa was very welcoming. The apartment is as nice as advertised, with LOTS of space, the perfect place whether for a long or short stay. The neighborhood is very safe, and a short drive/motorcycle ride from some of the popular spots on Acacia Ave or Kisementi.
This apartment is accurately named "cozy, charming and convenient." I lived in Kampala for many years, and it doesn't get much better than this location to beat the traffic! There is a coffee shop a few minutes away walking and a Chinese restaurant across the street. There are a number of other nearby restaurants as well. It's a close taxi, or "special" as they call them here, to Kisementi in the evenings, where there are plenty more restaurants and nightlife. The apartment was very comfortable and perfect for my extended stay in Kampala. Pippa was a wonderful hostess. She left some basics in the refrigerator which was very nice including eggs, water and bread for my arrival. The kitchen had everything required to cook meals at home, and there was a very nice woman who came to clean. The compound is relatively quiet and the guards are quite responsive. The apartment has an inverter for those times the electricity goes out. I will definitely be back again on my next trip to Kampala! I highly recommend this option. Much more affordable than a hotel, and very comfortable.
Apartment was much much better than in photos. It was lovely suprise to see how big it was, two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, huge livingroom and fully equipped kitchen. So me and my colleague has enough space.
The location could not have been better, near city center, but still not in middle of traffic jams. The Chinese hotel-restaurant and some other place nearby had aloud music at weekend evenings, but they stopped before midnight, then it was very silent.
We enjoyed our stay perfectly, now I planning to visit again with my family.
Pippa's flat is in a great location, close to central Kampala but in a more quiet residential area (nice area to go for a run in the evening). It's easy to find and the taxis/boda bodas all know the area very well. Although (as advertised) the place doesn't have wifi, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants within short walking distance (5 min) that have good internet access and good food too. The place itself is cozy, with a small but functional living room, fully useful kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom (good hot water)! A great base from which to explore Kampala or even for work. Pippa was super friendly and had good suggestions on restaurants etc. Highly recommended!
I stayed here for an extended business trip (approx 2 mo), and my experience was nothing but pleasant. Pippa was a lovely, accommodating host who took care to make sure your stay was comfortable and that you were able to access whatever you needed. The flat itself was clean and cozy -- everything is provided for you for the most part. And as an aside, the cleaning lady who comes does a fantastic job and the grounds keeper is very helpful as well; I found them very trustworthy.
The convenient location of the flat makes it a great place to be if you want to access restaurants and other main shopping malls around town or even in the neighborhood. You can even walk to a local farmer's market on Saturday mornings. Also, for those who enjoy running as I do, you will find this one of the best areas as there is very little car traffic off the main roads.
Overall, I would highly recommend this flat, and I look forward to returning again on future trips.
