I'm Lacey. I am a photographer and innkeeper.

I live on the coast of Northern California,

When I was young, I was inspired by Jack Kerouac's adventures and this quote from his famous book, On the Road:

"Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life."

Genetically predisposed to travel (Turkish nomadic roots), I have a knack for fearless travel and have found that the best way to look at life is to be like how you are when you are on the road.

You know? Something doesn't go according to plan or you suffer hardships like being pick pocketed, having no room booked for the night or dropping your camera in the water but you mustn't harp on it but buck up, let it go, and keep on going on the journey for there are magical, amazing things you are about to encounter.

This attitude led me to work at a bed and breakfast in rural France and a lodge in rural Alaska, both places where I became a mighty skilled forager of wild edibles like mushrooms and seaweeds.

Here's some random things about me:

I have hunted and eaten the worlds largest rodent in Paraguay.

I LOVE hitch hiking.

I have walked on an ancient pilgrimage across Spain twice!

I have had many close encounters with bears.

My great grandfather was the first Turkish photographer.

I have studied acupuncture in rural China.

I have worked the wine harvest in Napa. Though, I don't like much wine from here, if I had to pick one region, it'd be the Loire.

For many years, I have successfully lived on $10,000 a year.

My command of the French language is rather pathetic but I can hold full on conversations with French speaking nomads in the Sahara desert.

I have my BS in nutrition & natural health science from the wonderful Bastyr University in Seattle and studied web development and design at Chicago Portfolio School.

**In response to the "mixed review"- I was super apologetic and had a health issue that surprisingly came up. And am totally embarrassed that the reviewer even wrote about it. Staining sheets is not something I do (I've worked at Bed and Breakfasts my entire adult life, I know..sometimes you just have an accident!) As an innkeeper, I pride myself on being a great guest. This circumstance was just unfortunate :(
