Cozy, beautiful surroundings, amazing host~
The flat was wonderful and charming. It looks just like its advertised. It's nicely decorated so it feels like home and has the charm of a Parisian apartment with the slanted ceilings. The flat has all the necessary amenities for a long stay. We loved the views out onto the rooftops and the neighborhood is wonderful. I don't think we could have asked for a better location. Iris and Florence and their family were terrific hosts. They left us coffee and yogurt for our first morning. They were never intrusive but very helpful.
The apartment was perfect and ideally located in the heart of Le Marais -- close to a ton of fantastic bakeries, restaurants and iconic Paris landmarks. We walked almost everywhere, but if you prefer the Metro there are several nearby stops to get you anywhere you need to go in the city. Florence was a wonderful host -- greeting us upon arrival and showing us the apartment, which was exactly as described and perhaps even better than expected. If I was to return to Paris, I would certainly consider staying here again.
We had a wonderful time in Florence' appartment. Everything is exactly like in the pictures and the descriptions. The window light together with the tasteful interior design made us feel home very soon.
The location of the place couldn't be better. Rue Rambuteau is a lovely street with wonderful bakeries and just around the corner there are plenty of nice occasions to have a drink and eat deliciously. The metro stations Hôtel de Ville (Ligne 1) and Rambuteau (Line 11) are in 5-10 minutes walking distance and the RER lines which go to both of the airports (Stop Châtelet-Les Halles) are the same!
We had a wonderful time and Florence was very helpful and charming letting us in the appartment earlier and letting us stay some hours longer on the day of our departure! We would come back anytime!
PS: The staircases look marvellous - especially from the top ; )
I really enjoyed my stay in this little apartment – and I was there for a month, so I really put it to the test.
Yes, it’s small, probably a maid’s room at one time in the original old building, and best suited for one person, but everything is so compact and organized that a couple on a short stay could make it work too. The bed was comfortable, the water hot and plentiful (no water pressure problems) and everything was very clean. There’s lots of bright daylight from the skylight/windows but when they are closed, it’s very dark and quiet, making it easy to sleep. Not that you want to keep them shuttered. The view from the sixth floor over the rooftops of Paris is amazing. On the night of my arrival there was even a full moon. What more could you want?
How about a fantastic location? This particular block of Rue Rambuteau, lined with food artisan shops, is a treasure trove for foodies and a real convenience if you plan on making your own meals. For culture seekers it leads to the Centre Pompidou at one end and into the shopping boutiques, art galleries and small museums of the Marais at the other. Don’t miss the Les Enfants Rouge Market a few blocks north with its open-air Algerian restaurants. Another bonus – the Les Chatelet/Les Halles station with the most central Metro lines, plus the RER train, is only a five minute walk away.
Florence and her family (who live one floor below) could not have been kinder hosts – stocking the fridge for breakfast and even carrying my suitcase up the stairs on my arrival. They were always on hand if help was needed while never being intrusive.
Actually, I didn’t find the notorious stairs to be that big a deal. Just take your time and think of it as two flights of three. One thing for certain, it’s probably the most beautiful staircase you’ll have seen in a long time, plus you’ll feel less guilty if you have been indulging in pastries. The only note of caution I can add is that this studio may not be the best choice for a very tall person. The one sloping wall can make it easy to bump your head if you are not careful.
This was our first Airbnb experience and it was an extremely positive one. Iris & Florence's apartment on Rue Rambuteau was just the right size and in just the right neighborhood. We took advantage of its proximity to the Pompidou Center, to amazing bakeries and chocolatiers, to Le Marche des Enfants Rouges and to all the amazing Middle Eastern food along Rue des Pompiers. We wandered the vibrant Le Marais district almost every evening and loved it.
The hosts very generously accommodated our early arrival and the key handoff was seamless. The hosts live in an apartment below and came by to say hello and make sure everything was okay once early in the trip. Otherwise, they were unobtrusive.
On arrival, the apartment was clean and all necessities were provided -- towels, sheets, toilet paper, etc. The bed, a double, was very comfortable. The apartment is very cozy but was just the right size for our purposes. The bathroom is a little cramped, but the bathtub/shower was roomy. If you want to feel as if you're a part of Paris, an open window or two brings all the street sounds right into the apartment. However, with the windows shut, the space was as quiet as a church.
One caveat: Though it was not a problem for us, the hike up the stairs did leave us breathless. We felt it was worth it for such a nice place.
One tip: Huré, a bakery on Rambuteau just past Temple, is one of the earliest places to open on the street, at 6:30am. Their baguettes are quite good, but their raspberry & almond croissant is reason enough to return to Paris.
This apartment was wonderful! It was in a perfectly central location -- just minutes from the Pompidou. While we admittedly like to walk, we were able to get (almost) everywhere we wanted to go in Paris on foot. There are tons of food and shopping options as well.
The unit itself was adorable. It was small, but it had everything we needed, was very clean, and had a great view. We especially loved the bed nook! Florence was friendly and made herself accessible to us in case we needed anything.
Overall, we thought this apartment was charming, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great location in Les Marais.
We had a great time in Iris & Florence apartment. The location was great. Our hosts were very welcoming and helped us up the stairs with our luggage. The Apartment was very clean and nice. The view over the rooftoops was beautiful. We could definitely recommend this apartment!
Florence made us especially welcome. The apartment is small, but neat, tidy and clean. The location is perfect and provides a great platform for seeing the best of Paris & Marias. Tackling the stairs with the luggage the only challenge with the stay :). Thanks again.
The apartment was great! Looked as per listed, had a great kitchen space and was a good size for my boyfriend and I. The area the apartment was in was also great.
Iris was a lovely guest. She was very communicative and took good care of our home.
