Silver was nice enough and very patient about checking in . She did have to wait for bit which is never my intention but sometimes flipping the apt, with guests checking out and checking in takes more time than I have or more time than the incoming guest cares to wait. The only thing I can defend is the "hole in the door" comment. This building was an old hotel, EVERY door has a vented rectangular area. A board was put up over the vented area of the apt to provide privacy, NOT because it was kicked in. I'm very upfront about the building being pretty run down. There is no denying it. However, I must point out that the roach issue was one that just recently became a problem in the last two weeks, when the temps in Austin, started climbing into the 90's. Anyone who cares to go back and read the numerous positive reviews on this apt will see that absolutely no issues with roaches are mentioned. I agree that it's not what you want to encounter when you choose a place to stay. I also concede that at one point or another in my house, Silver's or anyone else's a roach is going to make its presence known. I tried to put out DE powder to try and remedy the problem but really only had a day to let it set out before I had to sweep it up in preparation for Silver's arrival. There was residue left behind, that affected her allergies which sucked. The whole deal sucked for both Silver and myself. She was denied a pleasant stay and I had a nice apt that I've worked hard on making a well reviewed airbnb option become tarnished by 2 or 3 consecutive guests (within a week) due to pests. I've removed the apt from airbnb until I'm certain the problem is permanently resolved.
