It was a lovely experience staying at Francesca's apartment. First, it's located in a perfect part of the city. Away from the tourist center of Florence, but an easy walk to Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi gallery. The surrounding area has many good bars and restaurants.
The apartment itself is an old but perfect abode with a feeling that wraps itself around you. A very comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen.
I can definitely recommend this listing for a place to stay in Florence.
Lovely apartment in my favourite part of Florence. Francesca was very welcoming, she left us a bottle of wine and we had no need to contact her for the rest of the weekend as we had no problems! The apartment was perfect for 3 girls on a long weekend, kitchen was fully equipped and the wifi worked perfectly, what more can you ask for! San Niccolo is perfect walking distance (5 mins Ponte Vecchio, 10 Duomo) from the tourist centre of Florence but just next to the beautiful Rose Garden and Piazzale Michalangelo where you can't get bored of watching the breath taking sunset over the city every night. Also very easy to catch the bus from just outside the apartment to the train station. Thank you Francesca, would definitely stay again! Tilly x
Francesca's apartment is really nice located (approx. 10 minutes from Ponte Vecchio), but still in a quite place, away from the mass of tourists. You have the feeling that you live in Florence. The apartment is also nice arranged, you have everything that you need. Francesca was really flexible concerning the check-in and the check-out; this was perfect for me and my friend, because we could enjoy every minute of our stay. Next to the apartment, there is the "Gelateria Vivaldi", where you should absolutely go: The ice cream is so good and the store is cozy and original. I would definitely book Francesca's apartment again.
Great welcome and a lovely place to stay with everything you need
The location is amazing we ll be back
Departamento agradable y muy bien situado.
Anfitriones muy amables.
This is the second time that we have been in Francesca's apartment and we can truly say that it is a home from home. Cosy but roomy. comfortable and tastefully furnished, it is a typical traditional Florentine apartment that you find on this side of the river - the best side of course! For a couple it is perfect - there is a bedroom with a small en suite bathroom and good storage area, a very comfortable sitting room/dining area and a small but well-stocked kitchen up some steps. There is also a single sofa bed option. The wi fi is excellent, the apartment is very quiet and away from the street noise and traffic noise that affects so many Florentine apartments. The bed is comfrotable, bedding and towels fresh and well looked-after. Everything is impeccably clean and the wood floors are beautiful. There are even two tables - one in the dining area and one in the bedroom - a great place to use a laptop, write and study. The apartment is easy to keep warm and you have complete control over when to heat and when to turn it off. There is a washing machine and a folding airer to hang your washing on. Francesca and her family are gracious, friendly and helpful hosts who offer a welcome gift on the table and who respond to requests and queries.
We were made to feel welcome from the moment we made the booking. All communications were clear and helpful and Francesca's son let us into the apartment and explained everything. Francesca left us a bottle of wine and a panettone - which was a lovely thought. We loved this apartment. We felt totally at home and it was easy to get to know with lots of space for two people and space to spread out. We loved the desk in the bedroom, the lighting, the home comforts such as a radio and a decent space for suitcases and clothes, and the beautiful but homely and relaxed decor. The kitchen is tiny but it is incredibly well-equipped, not something that you often find in rental accommodation. This is an incredibly quiet area of Florence and this is a wonderfully quiet apartment. We lived in Florence for 10 years so we know it very well and many apartments that have windows onto the streets are very very noisy. This is so peaceful and a haven to get back to. There are buses on the Lungarno which allow you to get places and there are nice local shops a bread shop, a small grocery and a very nice fruit and veg shop. If you want to spend a bit less you can cross the river and take the first right after the river - there is a Conad supermarket which has everything and is open every day and open late. There is another Conad at the Ponte Vecchio. We enjoyed eating out in the area of San Niccolo' too. There are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from.
Francesca kept in touch during our stay and checked we were OK which we appreciated. One last thing - the wi-fi was excellent though the number takes a bit of keying in!
Everything was very comfortable. It was nice staying across the river away from the hub of the city. Everything was accessible and an easy walk to museums, restaurants, cafes, and shops. Love it!
Everything was great and the apartment is really in a good neighborhood to explore Florence. It was cold outside and very nice and cozy inside with the gas heater. We never met Francesca but she had a nice bottle of Chianti for us and their holiday bread. The only complaint was the bathroom since when we took the shower the water had nowhere to go. Also, we asked for some recommendations to spend New Year's Eve but we never got an answer since Francesca was away. Overall I will recommend it and definately come back!!
Wonderful days in apartments Francesca! ochent cute and cozy. everything is very close, very convenient. and walk up for the whole day in the throngs of people at home you will have to wait - silence! It's wonderful to be able to relax in the evening!
