It was so far my best experience with airbnb. The boat house was exactly like on the pictures and the bed so comfortable. Would definitly recommand it :)
Laurel was the perfect host and her houseboat was wonderful. She was very helpful with all our questions and provided clear instructions on getting to the houseboat explaining everything we needed to know about staying there. All her neighbors were very friendly and nice. We felt at home in her comfortable piece of paradise. The views were more spectacular than the pictures in the listing. The location was perfect...an easy bike ride to downtown Sausalito and the ferry to San Francisco. Very convenient to everything in the North Bay. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Thanks so much Philip. You guys are welcome back anytime!!!!!
Laurel's home is simply amazing. It is comfortable, cozy, and ideally located for a vacation in the north bay - walkable to Tennessee Valley park, next to the Muir Woods shuttle, and close to both Mill Valley and Sausalito. Laurel was helpful and a very considerate host - I felt extremely welcomed.
Laurel's houseboat was the absolute perfect getaway! It was close enough to the city to go to museums and restaurants with ease, but far enough away to feel like we were in a quiet little harbor town. We didn't get to meet Laurel but she left clear instructions so we had no trouble finding the place or getting in.
The decor was fantastic! Exactly what we neo-bohemians were looking for, and her book selection provided some wonderful rainy day reading.
I can't recommend this place enough! Stay at Laurel's!
Laurel was a lovely guest -- happy to sit and chat but also busy with her own stuff. Her line of academic work is fascinating and she's full of stories. I hope her book tour goes well!
Such luck! The perfect guest, shared interests, fabulous, famous, and fun! What more could a host ask for? Well, author, animal lover, cook, foodie, traveler, writer, neat and tidy, interesting and interested, explorer, farm girl at heart ... how many more words do I have?
We were happy to host Laurel, an airbnb host herself! She was easy to communicate with and left our place immaculate, we hardly knew she was here! We'd be happy to host her again!
Laurel is an excellent host! Her houseboat is so charming and a perfect stay for your trip to the Bay area. Her response to needs is super fast and she is very accommodating. The view is to die for and once inside, you are in a secret jewel of a space. Amazing energy and warmth will surround your stay. You won't want to leave!
I stayed on Laurel's houseboat for 3 months in the summer of 2013 and it was fantastic. Laurel's a very attentive, conscientious host. Highly recommended!
Located on an unassuming dock in Sausalito, Laurel's houseboat is a hidden gem and the perfect place to either relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the city, or base yourself to explore different parts of Northern California.
Conveniently located close enough to the freeway (though not close enough to hear traffic), it's easy to get to San Francisco, or bucolic points north. It also has a HUGE deck looking out onto the San Francisco skyline where you can spend a tranquil morning sipping coffee, reading the newspaper and watching the sun rise. With a comfortable bedroom, "traditional" bathroom (it's easy to forget you're on a houseboat while in the regular-sized shower), a well appointed kitchen and cozy living room, you won't regret staying in this groovy, comfortable and chic houseboat.
