The space is bright and inviting, as seen in the pictures. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is clean, and the shower has good water pressure. The location is perfect for exploring East Austin.
Ish is welcoming, funny, generous, and a wealth of knowledge about Austin. Overall, it was an amazing Airbnb experience! I can't wait to visit again!
You are always welcome back Zach! Tacos and sunshine for miles.
Ish was a perfect hostess. She was there to greet us when we arrived and was attentive and concerned about our comfort. She was very friendly, open, and was very helpful with info about Austin and the neighborhood. We liked the hip and unassuming area where the house is located, East Austin. I recommend Ish and here Airb&b room for anyone visiting Austin!
Ish is a super nice and funny person. We had lots of fun and a wonderful time with her. She has a lot of friends in Austin and she can give you tons of tips and recommendations. Her house is both cute and stylish and is very well located in Austin. We loved especially her beautiful front porch to hang out. The house is only 10 minutes by foot away to East 6th street nightlife action and there are many great neighborhood bars and coffee shops. Staying with Ish was the best decision for a wonderful and amazing Austin experience.
I'm so glad we got to hang out while you were here! Thanks for the sweet gifts ;)! Y'all are always welcome back! There are many more breakfast taco spots & record stores to explore!
This was my first AirBNB experience and Ishrat made it super easy and awesome! My sister and I were in Austin from Oct 29 to Nov 4 for the F1 race. Ishrat's accomodations were exactly as listed and she was incrfedibly welcoming and friendly. We chose to stay with her based on the many positive reviews she had and it’s no surprise why she has received so much positive feedback. Ishrat gave great instructions for our stay and even provided recommendations for nearby eats. We only got to try a couple of the places and wish we had time to try more. Her home is well located as you can commute by bus to get to downtown Austin or take a cab (roughly $10-12 depending where you're coming from or headed to). The neighborhood was nice and we felt totally comfortable walking around at any time of day. If you’re looking to stay in the Austin area for anything I would not hesitate recommending Ishrat’s, we had the perfect experience! Thank you again for helping make everything so easy and helping us have an awesome time!
Thanks Jonathan! You and your sister were perfect guests! Y'all are always welcome back here!
Ishrat was there to welcome my boyfriend and I to her home. She was very nice and helpful. She made us feel comfortable and right at home. Room and house was as described. We were not disappointed and would definitely stay with Ishrat again.
Y'all are always welcome back! Glad you enjoyed your stay!
Ish was a wonderful host and the room was great. It is close to downtown and in a really interesting area in east Austin. Her house is so cozy and welcoming, we felt so comfortable being there. It seemed like we weren't just visitors, like we were actually embedded into the community. Most of the credit goes to Ish and her delightful house and hospitality! I'm going to look her up again when I make it back to Austin!
Y'all were perfect guests! Come back soon & stay awhile!
Ish was extremely welcoming. Her home is beautifully decorated, spotless and tranquil. The room is nice and spacious and I found the bed super comfortable. Ish is also a great Austin ambassador! She generously invited me to go out with her friends and I met some wonderful people trough her. The location was great, within walking distance to great restaurants, bars and an amazing yoga studio. It's also very conveniently located in relation to the airport. I will definitely try to stay with her again in my next visit to Austin and I would recommend her place to anyone visiting Austin. This airbnb experience definitely surpassed my expectations.
You are awesome! Hope to see you the next time I'm in NYC and please know that you are always welcome back here!
Ish was an excellent host- even without being present. She was gone on vacation (in our home town!) until the last day of our stay at her house, but did an excellent job of making sure we had all the information we needed before we arrived. The house was very clean, and our living quarters were spotless and convenient. There was closet space for our clothes and we had our own bathroom. I really appreciated that Ish checked in with us throughout the trip to make sure everything was going smoothly. We got to meet her on our last night there, and I'm so glad we did! She is a lovely person, and I only wish we had gotten to spend more time hanging out!
One thing I would recommend if you stay here (and if you are traveling to Austin in general) is to rent a car. We tried to only use the bus system but were limited in where we could travel. Ish's house is 4 or 5 blocks from a bus stop, which is convenient, but the city is really spread out and it is faster and easier to use a car.
Also, there are lots of fun and delicious restaurants near to her house. She will give you great recommendations, but be sure to hit up the White Horse if you like dancing and live music! And, Veracruz tacos. Yum!
In all, I would absolutely recommend staying with Ish!
So happy that y'all were able to stay at my casa! Thanks for leaving the house so clean! Y'all are always welcome back here...& y'know there can never be enough tacos! ;)
Ish made me feel welcome in her home the moment I arrived. I stayed at the very special Eastside Zenpalace for five weeks and enjoyed every day there. The house is clean and well cared for, cozy and lived in but never crowded or cluttered. The guest suite is private and quiet, the bathroom gets great natural light, the kitchen is stocked with good gear for cooking...
During my five weeks in Austin, Ish introduced me to fabulous people and places. She knows all the good spots to eat! (There are some great options in the neighborhood — casual cafes, food trucks, nicer restaurants). It's a very active neighborhood with a fabulous yoga studio, outdoor movie series in the summer, and bike shop if you need wheels...
Truly one of the most generous people I have ever met, Ish is a wonderful host — attentive, helpful, always respectful of her guests' privacy and belongings. She loves her house and it shows —the Eastside Zenpalace is a true gem. You can expect to have a great stay.
Aw! Thanks Chloe! You were such a joy to host & I am thrilled that I got to spend some real quality time with you! Hope you come back to Austin & visit!!!
Highly recommend! Great eastside Austin location for food, bars, good vibes -- lot of choices are walkable. House is plenty big for 4-5 people. And I love Ishi's decor!
Thanks Taylor! I'm thrilled to hear that y'all had a great birthday weekend! Hope y'all make it back to Austin again soon! Always welcome back!
Ish was a lovely guest. I even found out we had friends in common in Austin. I would love to have her back as a guest any time, and am happy to recommend her to any other Airbnb hosts.
Ish will meet you once and be your friend for life. She is honest and enthusiastic about whatever you are into. She can give great advice for making the most of Austin and may even show you around herself. Ish is a poet and artist and lives in space filled with creativity and joy!
I know Ish through one of her best friends from childhood. She has stayed in my house in SF (I live with the mutual friend), and she hosted me at her house for a week at the end of October and beginning of November 2013. She is an amazing host, and I highly recommend her pad. First, the house: it is the cutest house on the block, with original details and a very comfortable vibe. If you are renting just the guest room, it's in its own "wing" with a separate bathroom right next to it so you have plenty of privacy. The other bedroom also has its own bathroom inside the room, and is very spacious (both rooms are plenty big). The house also has a great front porch and back yard, for lots of great outside space and is just comfortable all around. The house is neat and clean, and feels comfy, yet modern and cool at the same time.
The location is very close to downtown and easy to get all around from the area. I thought this was a huge perk as well.
Now about the hostess: She knows EVERYONE in Austin, and is widely loved in town. She is also "in" on all the events, and she both took me to and pointed me to tons of great stuff in Austin that I would not have discovered on my own, including an amazing Halloween party, a really cool Day of the Dead celebration, art openings of friends, and several fun and cool restaurants and bars. Ish is very laid back, kind and wicked smart. She's interesting to talk to and just a very caring person. As her guest, you can be sure that you will be treated very well, and that she will add a personal touch. I highly recommend Ish and her house.
I had an opportunity to stay at Ishrat's home in 2010, while she was traveling for the Summer. Her home is beautifully appointed with wonderful custom lights and decorative touches throughout. The bedrooms are cozy. The bathrooms are clean and modern. And the living room is spacious, leaving me plenty of room for late night dancing. I look forward to staying there again sometime.
