Rossella welcomed us with a big smile. She is really friendly. The flat is perfectly furnished and located near to everything. It has a beautiful view.
I warmly recommand anyone to rent this flat.
The employee of Rosella was waiting for us at Danielli hotel as dicussed. She was kind and led us until the appartement. The appartement was not on calle larga san marco as said in the description, moreover the pictures did not correspond, weird... Anyway the appartement was well situated in the castello with a very nice terrasse. It was very clean and confortable. I recommand it.
This is a difficult review to write. Some things (the apartment’s location and the balcony) were very good. Other things (the owner’s actions upon our arrival) were not at all good. Let’s start out with the good. The advertised apartment is in a very desirable location, a ten minute walk from St. Mark’s Square. The immediate neighborhood is convenient yet not touristy. The balcony (terrace) is wonderful, with a view down a small canal to the Grand Canal. The apartment itself is functionally sufficient and consistent with the description on airbnb. Unfortunately, the process of our arrival and getting to the correct apartment was not good. Phone calls and text messages to the owner upon our arrival were not answered. But after about a 15-minute wait at the rendezvous spot we were met by an employee of the owner and taken to an apartment – but not to the advertised apartment. Rosella has only one property listed on airbnb, but we were taken to a cave like apartment with only one, small window, and no balcony. I told the employee this was not the apartment we rented and we would not stay in the apartment. What happened next made us more than a little suspicious that we were on the receiving end of a bait and switch effort by the owner. The employee called the owner. This did not result in a quick resolution as you would expect with an honest mistake. There was much discussion on the phone (all in Italian which we could not understand), at the end of which the employee still could not tell us if we would be taken to the advertised apartment. The only thing she could tell us was that the owner was coming over. When the owner arrived, the employee left us in the apartment and went downstairs to talk to the owner. I wanted to go down and talk to the owner, but the employee said it would be better for me to wait in the apartment. I reiterated clearly that we would not stay in the apartment under any circumstances. A few minutes later, the owner and her employee came up. There were statements about being in the hospital and an offer to bring tea… End of story, we eventually were taken to the apartment we rented. But we definitely believe the owner attempted a bait and switch to an inferior apartment. So…do we recommend it? Yes, due to the great location and, especially, the lovely balcony overlooking the canal. Also, most of the reviews are good, so our experience does not seem to be the norm. (However, do read Richard’s review dated September 2014 in which he describes an experience similar to ours.) But…be prepared to be firm and insistent if you are not taken to the advertised apartment.
This is a nice apartment in a good location. We enjoyed our stay there and would consider staying at this apartment again!
This was my first visit to venice. me and my wife had a nice time . I'm from Saudi Arabia.
The Location of the flat is very nice and the place is very good, the view the decorations, and the bed, path room.
balcony overlooking beautiful. This was the most beautiful trip (website hidden). I wish that if you could but a tv in the flat it would be better.
Over all good and I recommend this flat for every one going to visit venice.
Super market very near
My wife and I had a great time in Venice! The apartment was amazing and the location was great. The balcony was also and added bonus.
My wife and I do believe there was a "shake-down" happening upon our arrival in Venice. We had lost our luggage on the flight from Munich. I called and informed Rosella that our arrival at her place would be delayed. The lady at the airport also explained the situation. Long story short our arrival at the meeting place, Hotel Daneli, was delayed by several hours.
Since we did not have access to a cellular phone that would make calls in Italy, I asked the desk manager at the Hotel Daneli if he could call Rosella and notify her that we arrived and waiting in the Hotel lobby.
Rosella's runner met us at the Hotel.. from that point on - I felt they were trying to shake me down for more money or a different place. She kept stating - Richard I wait for 2 hours(the manager at the hotel never saw her before). This back and forth went on for 20 minutes. I finally explained - I have all ready paid for the room in full, I am sorry she had to wait( I had to wait and return to the airport the next day to get my luggage) and needed her to take my wife and I to the apartment.
One other point - SHE would never give me, nor the lady at the airport, nor the desk manager at Hotel Denali, the address to the apartment.
There are other places to stay at in Venice
