mi piace la musica, la natura
Bellissimo appartamento. Rossella è molto gentile e disponibile. Terrazzino top.
Venice is a beautiful city and we had a great time while we were here! We booked this place quite far in advance because of all the New Years eve commotion and wanted to have somewhere to sleep. We did have issues meeting Amy (Rossella's assistant) as other reviewers have mentioned. However this was because we accidentally overlooked the detailed message a month ago and did not have access to wifi. Rossella was reachable and texted us about where to go. Once we got to the place everything worked out. We were disappointed that there was no wifi provided, as it was very complicated to find in Venice and avoid tourist-trap restaurants. The door locks are quite tricky to figure out, but we managed just fine! If you are sensitive to noise in the morning you may be bothered by the loud garbage boat that goes by around 8am.
Rosella was so kind and helpful with our stay. We arrived late, got lost, no easy Internet connection and she was still smiling and so understanding. The apartment balcony and view were great, close to everything, all we could want and more. We would totally recommend this place for a restful and romantic stay. She even let us check out late and store our luggage so we could make the most out of every moment.
The flat was cosy and clean. The terrasse is amazing and the communication with Rosella was good. A perfect stay in Venice !
We booked this apartment quite last minute, so it was one of the few options remaining. Having read the negative comments from other guests, I booked it expecting some drawbacks, but we encountered some issues that could have potentially ruined our holiday.
First of all, the communication with Rosella was quite clear and responsive leading up to the meeting point. However, despite messaging and calling Rosella enroute to Venice at the airport and waterbus stations as requested by her, no one was at the meeting point in front of hotel Danieli when we arrived. We waited for almost 45 mins for rosella's assistant to show up.
Secondly, rosella's assistant seem to be indifferent and unapologetic for her tardiness. She also showed no concerned as we dragged two large luggages around and across several bridges (I.e. She did not even slow down to wait for us).
Thirdly, the location of the apartment is not as per the listing on Airbnb. How Airbnb is allowing this is not clear. The location of the apartment is around 10 mins walk from the San Marco piazza. In my opinion, airbnb should not allow the location to be listed at a different address as it is false advertising.
Fourthly, we had an issue with the lock also, as per another guest before us. We went out the first night and went back to get our umbrellas, and found that the lock is stuck and couldn't unlock it. After trying many many times, we called Rosella for help, but she didn't pick up but messaged back to say that she is working and can only communicate by text message. We asked her to help with the lock as we couldn't get into the apartment, but she said that she is outside of Venice and it will cost 50 EUR to ask the assistant to come back to help us. Eventually after trying for 30 mins frantically, we were able to open the lock. There is clearly an issue with the lock that needs to be fixed. And the lack of help and support from Rosella is very unsettling. We could only imagine how our holiday would have been ruined of we didn't managed to open the door ourselves and had to rely on Rosella and her assistant. This is the first time I have encountered such a lack of concern from an Airbnb host.
Other than that, the apartment was nice but basic, with a great view from the balcony and bedroom.
The hostess was very nice & responsive - however, through no fault of her own , the apartment was not ready on time - about an hour+ late.
The address of the apartment listed was different than the actual location - so planning for location was difficult.
It was clean, tidy, well equipped, great view and comfortable. Well organized kitchen.
I was very disappointed with the host of the place. I do not like to give bad reviews but I think it will be helpful to fellow travelers.
My girlfriend and I took a two week trip in several different countries. I did not have cellular data and stayed at AirBNB's the whole time without issues. So let me preface this with this was my only negative experience. We had never been to Venice so did not have much of an idea on how to get to Rosella's place. She sent an email saying, "please call me when you land at the airport and when you arrive at a designated hotel (metting-point)." I told her I did not have cellular service but I would pay for a phone call from the airport. Upon arrival, I called her and she said text me and hung up. Well... I did not have texts so did not text her and went ahead and got on a water-taxi in route to the main square of Venice, hoping we could get wifi at the meeting-point hotel. Nobody spoke english on the boat ride so we did our best to make it to the hotel and did eventually make it. When we got there, we asked the concierge to call Rosella, which eventually led to someone who I believe works for Rosella meeting us at the hotel. We were rolling big suitcases with no idea where we were going at this point. After about 30 minutes, we met up with said person. She did not speak english well so we could not ask any questions; we got our keys and went in the apartment after 15-minute walk. At this point, the night was almost over -- it took about 2 and a half hours from the airport to her place with water taxi and difficulty getting ahold of the host.
Next, we get ready to go out to get a drink and the keys they provided us were EXTREMELY hard to use. We actually locked one of us in the apartment and one of us out of the apartment (can't open from inside when locked). We couldn't get ahold of host (no phone service) so we went knocking on doors around the building and someone and myself worked at the lock for about 20 minutes. That was our first night experience. The host was non-existent after that first night. I wish, in such a hard city to navigate, we had a host willing to help rather than just collecting the check.
The apartment does not have WiFi** And Venice is difficult to navigate so I highly suggest doing thorough research before getting there and having a data plan or finding a place with wifi.
Figure out the Key Situation BEFORE the person drops you off for the trip.
You cannot see out the bedroom window (locked up).
Remember different plug outlets if from US.
I did like the balcony.
I was assured by Rossella that I would be going to the apartment described below.
I am pleased to welcome you in this fantastic apartment.
The apartment is brand new tastefully renovated and furnished with new furniture and beautiful. The floor is light wood floors. The bathroom is brand new with a great shower. There is everything you need to cook and dine or have breakfast. The fantastic thing about this apartment is that it has a terrace (rare in Venice), from which you see the channel.
The rooms have many windows overlooking the canal. From the windows and from the terrace you can see the Venetian palaces. You can make breakfast, lunch or dinner on the terrace where there is a table and admire the stars and the atmosphere romantic and unique.
The location is unique, close to Piazza San Marco, in the exclusive area from which you can walk to many places of the city.
You will experience a truly fantastic holiday.
Instead, I am sorry to say that after staying at 4 different AirBnb's, all excellent, that our stay for our anniversary trip to Venice was so sad it made me cry. I did everything asked of me by Rosella; texted from the train station and again from the Waterbus, then called when we arrived at the door of the hotel she was to meet us at. About 20 minutes later, a woman, not Rosella, arrived to guide us to the apartment. I was confused when we turned away from the direction of Piazza San Marco and Calle Largo San Marco, the address listed and contracted for, and headed in the opposite direction. After a brisk walk over three bridges and a double flight of stairs we arrived at the apartment, now curiously located at 292 F. Furlani. She quickly showed us around and seemed in a hurry to leave. After she left we had a real chance to catch our breath and look around. The apartment was shopworn and in need of paint and updated furnishings. The seat cushions in the dining area were torn and, pulling back the blanket on the bed revealed stains on the sheets. Unlike all the other Airbnb’s it was not clean. This was not the place I was promised. It's obvious that this apartment belongs to a friend of Rosella's, as evidenced by the curiously locked, off limits room. She rents this place to short term guests and saves the good apartment for others. She is not only ripping off guests but is ripping off Air BnB by using one listing for two rentals. If you rent from her, don't say you weren't warned. I consider this host a liar and a fraud and would like a refund.
Rossella was very thoughtful in describing how to get to the place, and how to coordinate with her husband. The place was very nice and cozy.
