Hi, I'm Izarra! I live in Hong Kong with my husband and daughter. I'm an English teacher and economics tutor (I also moonlight as a yoga instructor); my husband is a physical therapist. We're originally from Portland, Oregon (USA), and we're way into health, writing, science, kids and travel. If I had to pick three words to describe our family (thanks, Airbnb prompt!) they'd be something like: friendly, respectful and iconoclastic. We're happy to open our doors to new people and new experiences!
As a host, I pride myself on offering unpretentious comfort to my guests. My favorite trip is going back to Portland, so I guess I aim to recreate the feeling you might get walking into a house you know really well. I'm a bit of a clean freak, so our place is generally tidy, but I also want my guests to feel comfortable putting their feet up on the couch and leaving a few dirty dishes in the sink. If you're looking for a true hotel experience, you might want to keep looking. I'm aiming for the three Cs: comfort, coziness and community.
A note about privacy: we love making new friends, and we'll likely invite you into our family activities, but you don't have to be an extrovert to enjoy your stay with us. Want time alone? No problem. Just close the door and we'll leave you alone. :)
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you soon.
