Our family first came to Hawaii in 1965 and thus began my life-long journey to return to paradise as often as I could. My husband and I own a small farm in northern Vermont and have spent the last 17 years working on our Hawaiian land and building our dream house during the darkest days of the winter. We love being outside, taking care of the land, growing food and buying local, fresh produce.
With the help of our guests and our neighbors, we have planted palms, fruit and coffee trees, orchids, bamboo and flowers too numerous to count. We plan to grow greenhouse and hydroponic vegetable crops when we can finally make the move from the tundra to the tropics more permanent.
My younger sister, Martha, has adjoining property and will be the hostess for our guests. Over the years we've invited all of our family and friends to come and experience the wonders and beauty (not to mention the warm weather) that we've enjoyed on the Big Island. Everyone who's taken us up on our offer has had a fantastic time.
We also plan to build an off the grid lighthouse tower to continue hosting guests once we can finally move back to the island for good. We feel blessed and are happy to share this Aloha experience with you. Hawaii No Ka Oi. (Hawaii, It's the best!)
