Mike was very helpful in terms of logistics before and during our trip. He generally answered any questions we had within a day or two. While clearly a rental house, the house itself was in pretty good shape and clean when we arrived. The location was convenient as it was an easy drive to East Hampton and right off of Montauk Hwy.
I rented this house Labor Day weekend to celebrate my wife’s birthday with close family members and I was not at all disappointed.
What a beautiful house!
It is large and spacious with beautiful floors and a lovely kitchen. The bedrooms are also large and spacious and very charming. The house is located on wooded property and there are lovely views of the woods from every window.
The property is large and there are no close neighbors so you can enjoy the views of the outdoors without privacy issues. My wife especially loved the huge master bedroom with its beautiful vaulted ceiling, fireplace and views of the woods through the large windows. There is a large deck at the back of house where we barbequed and enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, and yes, you can hear the brook with runs close to the house, very charming indeed!
We had the place entirely to ourselves and and this was good because my wife could pretend that the house was hers even though it was just for the weekend. Her only disappointment was that she didn't see a black bear, however, I was totally fine with that.
Mike our host was pleasant, helpful and responsive.
I highly recommend this house, you will not be disappointed.
Mike was very responsive and answered questions quickly. He left an emergency contact number in case he couldn't be reached. The house is spacious and beautiful. There were 9 of us (6 adults and 3 kids) and we were all able to sit comfortably around the dining table but could also have our own quiet space when needed. We especially enjoyed the fireplace. All appliances were in good working condition and supplies were well stocked for us. We would stay again if in the Berkshires.
Great location and very spacious house. Very quiet and relaxing and works ok for kids too. We could even hear the nearby creek and it was a quick 5 min drive to the center of town. We saw a black bear nearby which was a great experience for international guests!
Mike was easy to deal with and always prompt with communication. Would definitely recommend.
We enjoyed a long weekend in Mike's spacious, comfortable house set in the woods about a mile out of town. Just a few years old, the four bedroom contemporary was handsome with just enough furniture but none of the extra stuff that can make an airbnb feel claustrophobic. I exchanged a few emails with Mike, but otherwise had no contact. The house was clean. The kitchen well-equiped. The four bathrooms snazzy. Just recently re-opened, the extraordinary Clark Art Institute makes Williamstown a great cultural destination, along with the renowned Williamstown Theater Festival.
From start to finish, I had a highly positive experience with Mike Polacco. As there were a few challenges with how Airbnb was handling the transaction, Mike was more than willing to over-communicate and help simplify the process.
My friends and I were using the home for Memorial Day Weekend, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the home itself. It was spacious, very clean, and offered the perfect space for entertaining in the backyard. Unlike some of the other reviewers, we were able to figure out the pool heater (however, not easily..). But a few other notables I'd mention were the kitchen space and bedrooms. The kitchen has a really nice open layout to the living room and opens out onto a screened in patio. It made it really easy for some of us to cook, while others hung out or played cards outside. The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, and almost all of them had their own bathrooms, which was awesome.
Finally, I would just say that Mike was incredibly hospitable and accessible when needed throughout my stay.
Fantastic experience. And it's close to everything... can't go wrong with this home.
My family and I were in Williamstown for the funeral of our aunt. Mike's house was just right for our group of five. The house has a terrific floor plan--a large open space on the first floor had comfortable couches and chairs with the kitchen and counter at hand. There's a dining area too as part of this layout. Off the living/dining room is a large deck, where we hung out a lot. It was the perfect place for being with cousins and friends who were also in town for the funeral.
The bedrooms were pleasant and the bathrooms ample. We were together as a family, but we are used to living separately, so having so much room was an extra bonus.
The house was clean and everything was there that we needed, from light bulbs to garbage bags to lots of board games, including Trivial Pursuit for Dummies, which we thought was our speed only to discover that we weren't such dummies afterall!
Outside, the house is situated on a well maintained dirt and gravel road, not far from the paved main road, in a very pretty wooded area. We walked the road and paths and discovered a magnificent view of the Berkshires closeby. The property itself is just a couple miles from the center of town. At first we thought, "oh, we're a little bit away from things." But we discovered that we were a hop skip and a jump away from everything that we needed, and loved the fact that we had privacy and beautiful nature around us.
The more we were in the house, the greater our fondness grew for it.
Mike was super to work with; I am sorry that there is the bad review on this property here on Airbnb. If there were problems, they have been corrected. I would recommend this house to everyone.
The house was great. Beautiful and spacious. It's hard to tell from the pictures but the layout is nice and there is a lot of room. The host was very easy to work with and always replied promptly. Although we never met him, he was very patient with us on our first day there. Our only disappointment was that the pool was never heated. We could not figure out how to do it and apparently the host did not know either. A heated pool was a BIG part of the reason we chose this house to begin with so I would not have stayed here had I known the heater wouldn't work or that no one would be able to help us with it.
The reservation was canceled 84 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
After reading the other post for this house I was a bit skeptical but decided to check it out as it had all of the amenities we were looking for.
The house is fantastic. When we arrived it was white-glove clean. Each room is decorated with a "Hamptons" or "Nantucket"-like color palette and fabrics; all top of the line and tasteful.
The gourmet kitchen has a gas stove, polished granite island, crown moldings and all of the little details that separate a high-end house from a "beach cottage".
Each room is decorated in it's own style; some radically different (the 'red' room was great for movie night and entertaining) but the house maintains a decorative continuity nonetheless.
After years of renting on Nantucket we were ready for a change but nervous. Mike's house left us feeling as if we've been missing out on the Hamptons experience - the house was exactly what we were looking for and true to it's Airbnb profile.
It saddens me to read the other review of this property. I'm not sure what took place prior to them renting the house that resulted in their negative experience but I can't, in my wildest imagination, empathize with their opinion of the place. I will go back. I would advise friends and strangers to jump at the opportunity. It's priced right, well maintained and the owner was hospitable and accommodating. Our favorite beach house escape in many years.
