I was lucky enough to book 5 nights accommodation at Katherines in richmond in october. I found her and her family to be very gracious hosts, with the cats and sid the dog being even friendler. I have to say I enjoyed my stay immensly and was able to explore Richmond and London at my leisure. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay if you are thinking of going to london. Hopefully I will be able to visit them again in the future.
Hosts were very welcoming, felt very at ease.
A lovely location in leafy Richmond.
Room was very spacious, enough room for us and their adorable cats!
Just returned from a lovely weekend in Richmond ... the room and ensuite bathroom were very spacious. We were made very welcome from the beginning and enjoyed having breakfast in the breakfast room with the host family. We walked into Richmond (about 20 minutes from the station) one day and caught the bus another day. Bus conveniently departs from the stop outside the house. The house is also well situated for a walk through Richmond Park. Would recommend.
Katherine made me feel at home and was very helpful.
My husband and I stayed with Katherine and her family for one night in September.
We were made to feel welcome, the room was very comfortable and we slept very well.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay there on another occasion, if our request was accepted.
We had a very comfortable night with a very friendly host who gave us loads of local knowledge, including a lovely Persian restaurant close
Many thanks Katherine
My friend & I had a very warm welcome from Kathy, Michael, Liberty and all the pets as soon as we arrived! A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout our 3-day stay - nothing was too much trouble and our rooms were comfortable and bright, and we both slept very well. It was extremely useful to be able to park at the house and Richmond centre was only a leisurely 15-minute walk away. A perfect location and lovely people to stay with.
Incredibly generous and helpful, genuinely nice people. The location is fantastic and the house is really nice + big.
Katherine was excellent at keeping in touch beforehand, and helpful in giving advice on what to do and how to get around. The room was fabulous, lots of space and comfy. Breakfast was included and included some yummy stewed home grown plums.
A warm welcome was given by Katherine and a cuppa around the big kitchen table was enjoyed. Katherine and Michael are friendly hosts and happy to give good advice on transport and ideas on different things you might like to see and do. This is a very busy family and the home is just that, a busy family home. Self cooking is available which we didn't take up, could be tricky in all the busy-ness, especially when there is an abundant supply of good restaurants within 10 to 20 minute walking distance. Breakfast for us is cereal, fruit and tea, it is all we wanted and enjoyed. The room upstairs is spacious, clean and although it does have a big bathtub and separate shower, it is essentially a bed and ensuite with no door separating the bedroom from the bathroom/toilet. It could benefit from having a comfortable chair and a small television. They have a loving friendly dog, Syd and two cats, Nero and Lilly, both are also very friendly. When out of the bedroom you can expect one or more of the animals looking for attention so you do need to be an animal lover. The bedroom window is not able to be left open more than a inch or two as the cats will join you at night, and do try to late each night, which could be a problem if the weather is warm. There is a lovely small backyard with a grassed area. This accommodation is located on the very busy flight path to Heathrow and noise could be a issue if you are a light sleeper. The location is excellent regarding transport. 10 minute walk from North Sheen Station (steps over and down an overpass), 25 minutes from Richmond, a major station with access to the underground to London and south by train out of London into countryside which we did do (steps leading down into the station, but not too many). Kew gardens also a 25 minute walk. A bus stop is located at the front door. A bonus is Richmond Park, a wildlife sanctuary park of open field areas and woodlands, a ten minute walk from this accommodation thru some woods. We walked here late one moonlight night (we also had a torch) and saw deer grazing. You can walk for miles and it is difficult to believe it is so close to central London. This accommodation provides a good base from which to see London and its surrounds.
Katherine and her family were really nice and pleasent guests. Those are the guests, who would everyone love to host them. They like our slovenian farmers honey and we hope they would return some day.
Very nice guests, was a pleasure to host them.
Katherine and her family were an absolute pleasure to host in our Piran Cottage. We therefore highly recommend Katherine to any potential host.
wonderful people, always welcome, it was a pleasure. thank you so much.
Katherine et son époux ainsi que ses enfants sont des personnes charmantes. Nous les recommandons. J'espère que nous aurons le plaisir de vous accueillir à nouveau tout au bout de ce bout de France !
Katherine and her beautiful beautiful family were the loveliest and most appreciative family we have ever hosted. From the moment we saw them, it felt like they just fit right in. They were the type of travelers who would settle right in to an environ and soak in all what the country has to offer - we are sure that the rest of the travels will be special for them due to their positive energy. We are so glad that we had the opportunity to enjoy the company of these lovely people, incidentally fellow hosts on Airbnb. Thank you guys for making out hosting experience so so special and for immersing in Sri Lanka so wonderfully and truly truly enjoying Sri Lankan hospitality. See you in Colombo!
