Response from Karen:
I appreciate the review, I really do. Our home is over 100 years old - that is part of the charm.
Plumbing upgrades have been made- a new shower head was added and everything works great.
And to all the tall people- there is one very small area in the unit where people over six feet have to duck, and as I understand - tall people already know about ducking their head.
We have never had any problem with our high speed internet- and to the reviewer: perhaps it was user error?
The home has been upgraded and has mostly new furniture - most people love the built-in seating area in the living room and the swivel chairs ( seating area ) in the main bedroom. And the large kitchen-
What amuses me about the reviewer: ,Laurel- I got a letter from you and in this letter you complained that my garbage cans were not big enough ( ?! ) and you complained that there were not enough dishes in the kitchen ( there was, and still is ) a brand new set of dishes for eight people in the cupboards)....hmm - how big of a dinner party do people want to host while on a business trip? Maybe that is why the need for bigger garbage cans?
Or was it for the pizza box that you left me on the counter? There was a trash container outside not far from your door where you could have put the box if it bothered you.
You wrote complaining that you could not remember how to use the heaters- you know, the ones I tried to show you when you checked in - and you told me you didn't need to use them because you were from Wyoming ( ?! ) and then in the letter you again said that you didn't want to use them anyway...
Laurel- when a host asks a guest if there is anything she needs, instead of not responding- please tell her what it is that you need or cannot find during your stay -instead of complaining after you leave. We are not mind readers.
I even bought you ice creme and left it in the freezer for you, which you (or your husband or your assistant) ate. I also wanted to bring you a fruit bowl- you declined. I gave you a gift of 3 meals at half price to dine at the restaurant we own- just walking distance from the house - you didn't use them, that is OK but why not a small thank you for anything at all?
What does make you happy?
