I'm fundamentally interested in the experience that people have when interacting with one another and how intermediary systems can help or hinder those interactions. I currently work at Serious Eats as a designer on creating better ways of exploring and finding their content and improving publishing tools.

I also founded Lonestar Taco with my husband Wayne. We make the most delicious tacos east of the Mississippi! We work directly with local farmers, producers and purveyors to source ingredients for our menu. We were recently nominated as finalists in the Best Market Vendor category in the 2013 Vendys.

Traveling is so important to what I do now and was part of the inspiration for Lonestar Taco. In 2010 I took a five month trip with Wayne across the world. We were very fortunate to have met and stayed with so many people involved in sustainability projects in Thailand, China, Italy, Ireland, Turkey, South Korea and Japan. It was a chance for us to connect the food we tasted and experienced with the agricultural and social bonds that produced them. We've stayed in all kinds of accommodations, from open-air rooms in an earthen structure on a farm in Thailand to an architect-designed house on the side of a mountain in southern Japan that was inspired by an artwork. And I enjoyed them all!

I firmly believe in traveling lightly and maintaining a flexible mindset - by paying attention to the serendipitous moments you'll be led to the most unexpected and astonishing places.
