I am Erika from Genzano, I study to become a family counseling and to be a hope for many families ........I wish that all families can never get broken !
Erika is a perfect host with a wonderful house. She is absolutely friendly and helpful! We give our best recommondation. Erika: thanks a lot! We really enjoyed it.
Erika and Paola were superb! They have their hands full with this aging villa. The craftmanship and woodwork were impressive. Great bathroom. The pets were friendly. It was easy to find. GPS brought us to the front gate. The views were magnificent. Gas and electricity were precious, so conservation is (website hidden) did not work and Internet was inconsistent. It is a 15 min. drive to Campoleone train station. Then about 30 min. to Rome.

We stayed two nights at Erika and Paola's villa, actually in the little apartment that is separate from the main house. The property is out in the country, and thus very quiet and peaceful. From there it was an easy drive to one of two nearby towns to take a train into Rome, which we did both days and thus did not really spend much time at the villa. The apartment met our needs, although the wifi was not available out there such that we needed to go up to the house if we wanted to go online. When we left, we happily bought a liter of fresh olive oil to bring home with us for future enjoyment!
The property is located in a quiet and peaceful area 5 minutes by car from Nemi lake.
Our room and ensuite bathroom are ample and very clean
Paola (Erika's mom) is really nice, and a great helpful host.
When wanted to go to Rome she drove our car to the the nearby Campoleone railway station in the morning and picked us up in the evening when we returned.
She also prepared a delicious dinner and we really enjoyed the long chat (over a bottle of nice Italian wine) that gave us the opportunity to practice our Italian.
We regret that couldn't stay at least one more night.
Lovely stay, beautiful villa, our room and private bath was clean and comfortable.
Erika speaks perfect English and was very helpful. Paola her mother is a lovely lady and tries very hard to communicate. Paola prepared us an authentic dinner that was the best. We. went into Rome and left our car at the near by train station. The train leaves every 20 minutes and takes less than 30 minutes to get to down town Rome. We parked the car in the large Parking lot on the other side of the tracks, ask Erika how it is done, free parking all day. So much history that is in the area we used the local map that Erika gave us to find our way around. Yes, we would stay here again.
We had a lovely stay at the villa, the room was beautifully spacious, the breakfast was really tasty and the view was nice. There were two dogs and they were really friendly, so don't be scared to pat them. I recommend to stay there. :)
I couldn't have asked for nicer hosts than Paola and Erika! The Villa is an amazing place to stay - the room and bathroom is spacious and clean, the views over the countryside are spectacular, the hosts cook delicious dinners and most memorably the family are really lovely and looked after us very well. Can't recommend this accommodation enough, and i hope to return in the future.
I needed to find a quiet place to stay with close access to Rome and its wonders but away from its noise, its sirens and crowd masses for a few days whilst waiting for a friend to disembark from a holiday cruise. I needed to unwind, to relax in beautiful surroundings, read a book, sit in cafes on the edges of piazzas drinking coffee or wine for hours, letting the hours pass and with them the sun from one side to the other. Bliss. April is early but spring is a favourite time with clear blue skies and warm sunshine. No sun cream nor sore burns just perfect.
Paola and Erika live just out side Genzano maybe 20-30mins from the Autostrada and underground Metro with its direct link to the centre of Rome. Their home is a stunning example of an Italian residential dwelling with thick stone walls to keep it cool inside. It stands on an olive grove plot with stunning views north to Rome and west to the sea. This hillside location is their to explore with its towns and villages, lakes and off road tracks, cafes, restaurants and bars..... It is the opposite to the hustle and crowded streets of Rome but the villa was chosen for this purpose.
Before heading off to Rome like most of the great cities of the world it is always best to plan the trip - transport, places to see, time and budget. Then reduce the number of places to see by 100% and double the time in other words keep it simple. Crowds and queues slow things down and money never seems to go far enough as there are always many people willing to help you spend it. My day focused on two buildings, the Colosseum and the Pantheon and the area between. This took 8 hours including metro. Reason for the trip was not to completely tire myself out by overdoing the site seeing or with brain overload. The reason for the metro was to avoid travelling in the centre of Rome by hire car - parking and damage. Italians have their own way of driving - at best they are completely mad then it goes down hill from there. Their cars have bumpers and they use them often along with insurance claims with expensive excess values. (Always insure to cover excess value). The whole trip lasting 6 days went perfectly to plan and I am looking forward to going back.
We chose to stay at Villa Paola e Erika because we didn't want to take our car into Rome. A perfect setting and restful place to come back to after the hustle and bustle of Rome. Once we got acquainted with the 10 minute drive to the station it became a simple process to get into the heart of Rome and all the sights. Our only regret is we didn't have enough time to explore the local sights near the Villa. We will have to come back for that and will want to stay again with Paola and Erika. We can wholeheartedly recommend Paola and Erika, they are wonderful friendly hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home and welcome.
