Andrea was a great host. Unfortunately, my luggage was lost by the airline (and coming from Canada with no extra clothes, that really sucked!). But Andrea helped me communicate with the airline (who could really only communicate in Italian), and helped me to retrieve my luggage!
The apartment was very nice, but small, which is fine if you are just planning to stay for a few days. I really enjoyed my stay at the apartment, and really want to thank Andrea again for helping me with my luggage.
During the day, it can be quite noisy outside but that's fine unless you are a hermit who spends all day inside :). Night time is extremely quiet and really helps with getting over any jetlag.
Andrea was an amazing host! The apartman is in the very very center, perfect for exploring the city. it is a bit smaller than it looks but for 2-3 days of travelling it is great! In the apartmen we left some leaflets with the best seafood restaurant in the city. If you stay here, find them and visit the place .
A small but nice apartment. Andrea has done a great job renovating and it is like new. The location is great for walking the old city. The "girls of the night" who are all over the neighborhood are very nice and ironically they only work during the day. At night it was very peaceful.
This smart, comfortable apartment is situated around the corner from Genoa's most impressive thoroughfare and a short walk from the Porto Antico and the picturesque lanes climbing up the slope - as well as the main train station. Andrea is one of the nicest hosts you could wish for - kind, attentive and accomodating. Highly recommended on every count.
The place is very well located. There was everything needed inside the apartment. We enjoyed our stay in Genova. Than you Andrea for your help.
Gran bel soggiorno! Il bilocale è molto carino e pulito. La posizione è favolosa e molto (website hidden) siamo trovati benissimo.
Great stay at Andreas apartment.
It was a bit shocking at first to see the 'prostitudes' on the main building door and all around the neighbourhood but we decided to say hello to them and they all were very polite and courteous. Also very cute to my 3 year old son. They even took care of him for a few minutes while I run upstairs as I forgot my purse.
Apartment is like in the photos.
Location was great. Easy to reach all the common tourist sites.
Andrea also left some things for our breakfast which was very kind.
Disadvantages: stairs are a bit narrow. It was ok for our MacLaren pram but if you have a bigger pram consider that you will have to fold it to take up.
We had some rainy days. My son was fine because we still went out but an older child could get a bit bored and there isn't a huge space for them to play.
Andrea was a great host, and made us feel very welcome when we arrived in Genova and even left some drinks and snacks for us. He waited for us outside the building, and showed us into the flat. The flat was amazingly clean! It's like a well decorated hotel room, but with a small kitchen and washing machine. The AC came in very handy at night since we visited at the end of July and it was pretty hot. The location was great too! Lots of cafes, restaurants and sights to see very close.
As the other reviewers mentioned, there are "working girls" at each corner, but they weren't as trashy looking as I expected, and they were just standing around without bothering anyone, so it was fine by me. There are also lots of cameras around the streets, so the area felt safe, even at night.
There is a cab station near by, so it's easy to get to and from the Genova Principe train station. We mainly stayed at Andrea's flat to visit Cinque Terre (which is absolutely beautiful!), so didn't get to explore much of Genova. There is lots to see near the flat, so if we ever get the chance to come back, we would love to stay here again and explore more of the city!
my new experience with Airbnb is really positive, this time I had the pleasure of hosting in my home Andrea, I would say everything is perfect ... can not be better!!!
