Orginally from Shropshire now settled in Derbyshire with my modern family. Interests include fell running, yoga and growing vegetables.
Russell is friendly and easy to deal with. The house is big and comfortable. I love the garden and the back yard so much - it's clean and Russell allowed me to pick his strawberries! Jasper is also cute!
Arrangements were really easy with Russell and he was totally flexible and helpful while we ummed and ahhed about specific dates, he responded quickly every time.
The home itself is great - two decent sized double rooms, two single rooms (both we also managed to squeeze travel cots into), nice clean and modern bathroom. Downstairs the living room was comfortable and cosy, the kitchen big with a 4 seater table, garden was also lovely - front and back! We were so lucky to be able to help ourselves to fruit growing in the garden which was delicious and great for the children. Other family friendly features were toys for young children and stairgates at top and bottom of the stairs and the brilliant playpark just over the road.
Wirksworth is sweet and brilliantly located (you can walk into the center of town from Russell's house in about 15mins using footpath. Oh - and Jasper the cat is adorable! Highly recommended.
Russell was very quick at responding to all our queries which was great. Me and 3 friends stayed there before heading to Alton Towers the next day, it was about a half an hour drive so perfect for us to get there nice and early in the morning! Jasper the cat is very friendly. The house was very clean and the bed nice and comfortable. We were only there for one night so didnt have much time to look around the area but it seemed nice..
Russell was extremely responsive over texts. His pet cat, Jasper greeted us, and was an incredible host for the night. We really appreciated the very clean and modern shower facilities. Getting to this house was a great adventure as well, as it's right by a national park and deep in the English countryside. But the nearby town has all the amenities and really good food.
We were here for the Download Festival in Donington which was a short 40 min drive away. It (email hidden) to rest after a whole day at the festival. Located in a quaint, quiet neighbourhood. There are sheeps outside the backyard too! Love the nature that surround the area.
The house is spacious, clean and has comfortable bed and couches. Russel is very easy to contact. He came down to the house at the instant when we had a little trouble with the door and need help with the internet.
Our favourite is the house cat Jasper! Jasper is very adorable and friendly!
We had a lovely time at Russell's home. It is a very comfortable and practical home with everything you need. The house comes with Jasper the cat who is very friendly and welcoming. The location of the house is perfect for those wanting to explore the surrounding national forest of the Peak District. We managed to visit some beautiful locations including Buxton, Chatsworth House and Carsington water. For those who like cycling we would recommend doing the cycle tour of the lake at Carsington, it takes about an hour on hire bikes to go round. Of course you can also take your own bikes as well! There is easy parking outside the house and the area is very calm and quiet which is very nice. Matlock and Black Rock are also great places to visit. As a final point the beds are super comfortable so you are guaranteed a good nights sleep.
Lovely stay this weekend when we attend a family wedding in nearby Rowsley. Lovely soft beds to fall into and nice home comforts to wake up to - tea, coffee etc. Feeding the cat was a pleasure and made it like home from home. Lovely area to stay, left mid morning for Carsington Waters nearby which is stunning. Would like to return to explore the village in more detail and will certainly be asking Russell when the house is free to rent. Friendly people in nearby houses gave us lots of tips on what to see and how to get there. Russell was very accommodating on checking in and out and that made is so much more relaxed than a hotel stay.
This is a cosy house and great for a stopover in Wirksworth. 4 big rooms for our big family and Rusell was very accommodating allowing us to check in very late. I would recommend this stay to others.
Russell was very helpful, answering emails and texts quickly, and he was very flexible with arrival and departure times. The house was warm, beds were comfy, there is plenty of room - and the cat is gorgeous! Very good price for what you get.
We stayed at Russell's house during a cycling family holiday and it was great to have (email hidden) to fit us all in (2 adults, 3 kids!). Russell was very accommodating and the kids adored the ginger cat!
House is located very close to city centre, lovely green area and very family friendly. (stair gates included!)
A great guest!
Russell is fun to talk to and very nice. I highly recommend having him stay!
