Russell was a very helpful host, always in contact with any queries and helping sort out arrival, etc. beforehand.
Having 2 small children (6 month baby and 2 year old), the location of the house was great as it's on the quietest of streets with easy parking, and the house suited us as the lounge room was well-equipped with toys and plenty of space to play.
A well-equipped house meant a relaxing break for us.
Thank you for a wonderful Christmas in your beautiful home. Russell was a brilliant host who left us with freshly baked bread, fresh flowers and the most beautiful cat ever. The house is idealy located opposite a good park, in walking distance of lots of unique shops right in the heart of the Peak District.
We couldn't have wished for more.
Such a lovely cosy family home in a beautiful village setting. And Jasper, the lovely fluffy tom cat, is the friendliest cat we've ever met.... wanted to steal him so badly! ;)
Didn't meet Russell but his communication was brilliant and we had everything we wanted.
Absolute 5 star stay - thank you SO much! :)
Lovely house and lovely area. Pleasure dealing with Russell
Russell was communicative and welcoming in advance, with the house itself located in a quiet little village reached by beautiful sweeping Derbyshire roads.
Was great to be welcomed by the cat on arrival, to find a helpful folder on things to do in the area, and as such our stay was both comfortable and relaxing. Russell was even on hand the morning after when I'd been a complete idiot and thought I'd locked one of my bags in the house: literally could not ask anything more of Russell as a host.
Nice cosy house in a picturesque part of the country, with countryside views to the rear. Plenty of on-street parking. No TV (in case that matters)
Russell's home was exactly as described, comfy and cosy and in a great spot. Its a short walk into Wirksworth, or 45 mins on foot to the train station in Cromford so being carless was no trouble at all. There are lots of lovely walks both in the immediate area and slightly further afield. Its very homely and Russell made us feel really welcome with efficient correspondence before and after our stay. Having Jasper around was an extra treat as he's so affectionate!
Really lovely, comfy house with a very friendly cat. Great location for for alton towers and the village itself is lovely as well. Great Italian place in the village we discovered to have dinner.
A true home away from home. We really enjoyed staying at Russell's place. We were 2 families (1 living in London, 1 in Lancashire) using the place to get together in the middle. The location was great, in a quiet street, but easy to get to Alton Towers and the South Peak district by car. We did not meet Russell, but he responded to all correspondence promptly and made the check-in/check-out procedure super simple. We really liked the style of the place and the stairgates and toys made our lives easy with 3 toddlers in tow. All of us absolutely loved the cat who made us feel very welcome. Definitely recommend if you are coming to this area.
The house was great. Russell was very quick to respond to any queries. And Jasper the cat was fun to have around as well.
A great guest!
Russell is fun to talk to and very nice. I highly recommend having him stay!
