We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Ulisses found us waiting for a taxi when we arrived and gave us a ride to the cabin. He also gave us a ride to the grocery store and to David to catch our flight back to Panama City.
Just know that you might have to wait a while for a taxi back to the cabin, especially if you are out late (after 8PM or so). The cabin is only about a 5 minute walk from the main road, but there aren't any stores/restaurants within reasonable walking distance. Other than 1 night, when a neighbor was playing some loud music, it's a very quiet area.
Cette location est très agréable! Le propriétaire est adorable et nous avons été très bien reçu. Le logement est très près du centre de Boquete et du départ de nombreuses activités. La région est très belle. Le logement est très très propre, très confortable et nous vous recommandons d'y aller!
Ulises drove to David and picked us up at the bus station, then stopped at a grocery on the way to the cabin allowing us to gather initial supplies which we really appreciated. The cabin is very nice, in excellent condition, has everything we needed and has a great view of the mountains and on some days even the ocean. Amenities include a great back patio with wonderful views, strong WiFi, cable TV, comfortable bed, wash machine, blender, coffee maker and adequate kitchen stuff. It is set in a quiet neighborhood, on an individual lot across the street from Ulises and his wife who were very responsive to email. The neighbors were friendly. The cabin is about 4k's or 2.5 miles from central Boquete. Cabs and a David-Boquete bus run frequently up and down the main highway about two blocks from the cabin and take 10-15 minutes to central Boquete. We consistently paid $1.20 for two people to ride into or back from central Boquete. We were completely comfortable and thought the daily taxi rides were easily offset with the quiet pleasant neighborhood setting. We would certainly recommend this cabin to others and would stay there again if we returned to Boquete.
My hosts were incredibly attentive to all of my needs especially upon my arrival; Ulises drove me to a grocery store to pick up a few provisions! I also enjoyed my long conversations with both husband and wife on a few occasions!
It is a pleasure to have hosts who speak fluent English!
The casita was very clean and nicely laid out. It felt very private and safe, and it was easy to get a taxi or bus to town and back. We were impressed that the power and internet stayed on almost without a break for our entire 2-week stay despite it being an exceptionally windy spell.
Wow what a nice little hideway. It's tucked into the shade trees, has a big lovely deck, big comfortable bed. A very comfortable, private retreat.
The sunset cabin was spotlessly clean (I'm a clean freak so I mean that) beautifully built and decorated, with all the facilities needed. Hot water, wifi, fully stocked kitchen too.
I was a little worried about being slightly out of town but it's just as described with the main road about 200m away and taxi fares 75c pp and collectivos 60-65c pp. I never waited longer than 10 mins for either.
Ulises is a great host too - it was particularly windy at the time of our visit and the power went out a few times. He went above and beyond to call the power company and even a private electrician to get it fixed. He also picked us up when we arrived so we didn't have to worry about finding the place the first time (it's easy by Panamanian standards but Boquete isn't known for its addresses.
Merci Ulises!
Ulises has been a wonderful host during our stay. He met us at the bus terminal in Boquete and drove us to the Cozy Sunset Cabin. The cabin is large, comfortable and very clean. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals at home. The room is very comfortable and the terrace is superb. We had a wonderful stay and we would recommend the place without hesitation! Thank you Ulises!
We highly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was homey, super clean, and had a wonderful patio. The cabin is about 10 minutes from Boquete proper, but we had no problem catching cabs (60-75 cents one way) and local bus (50 cents) on the highway that's a two-minute walk from the house.
Ulises was extremely helpful and accommodating, and even picked us up the first day from a nearby bus stop. They also kindly allowed us to leave our luggage past our checkout time on our last day.
We enjoyed our very relaxing stay at sunset cabin, and highly recommend it!
Overall: A really great place to stay in Boquete, highly recommend!
The "cabin" (more of a small home) is about 4 miles south of Boquete, in a small safe middle class neighborhood. We found it to be a nice location, close enough to Boquete and surrounding attractions but far enough that you miss a lot of the rain and overcast they get in the higher mountains. (Amazing how the climate can change so quickly there).
The home is exactly as pictured, and a nice place to stay. Good creature comforts: Wi-Fi, cable, washer and dryer. Very breezy and clean.
Ulises is an excellent host, and super responsive. We had a few truly minor things come up, and both times he was there almost immediately. He lives across the street, but is not intrusive at all.
I'd definitely recommend a car in Boquete. One thing we struggled with in general around Panama was the lack of road signs, directions and maps, but a car is still worth it for sure.
