Hello! My name is Dimitris.Happy to meet new people, new cultures and new ways of life.
Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed at this apartment for 4 nights. The apartment is very spacious, with 3 bedrooms, one bath and a tiny 1/2 bath, and large sitting area, with wrap around balcony. There are streets on two sides, one a rather busy one (we heard some loud noise like trash collection every night at 3 AM). However, the streets put some distance to next buildings, which is nice.
The apartment is equipped with everything one would need, including beds, couches and tables, kitchenware, etc. Dimitris is a friendly host, willing and available to help with your stay (we tripped one of the electric breakers the first night and he came back within 15 minutes after we called him and reset it). There are two tiny elevators you can use, but we opted for taking the stairs except when we had a heavy load to carry. There is also a designated parking space for parking your car (we did rent a car).
The neighborhood, although not an upscale one, is a safe one, with mostly families living in the apartments. There are small markets within walking distance, and a super market nearby.
There were a few drawbacks on the apartment:
- Most important one was that it was not clean. The shower curtain was so dirty that we opted for buying a new one from the super market. There were remnants of food on the dishes, and dirt had collected in the corners of walls. Hopefully, Dimitris will keep a close eye on his cleaners after reading this.
- The parking space is small and in a very awkward place, where you have to carefully back into it from the street on a steep downhill, next to another car.
- The central heating (radiators) are off most of the time. So, you have to use the ACs (which are quite nice) to heat up the apartment. When we arrived, the apartment was very cold and we had to run the ACs on max to heat up the apartment. However, if you run the 3 ACs and the water heater (a small electric one) at the same time, you run the risk of tripping the main breaker (this happed when our daughter was taking shower; left with icy cold water in total darkness). Later we learned that many apartments in Greece have this problem, so do not use the ACs on high and take hot shower at the same time :-).
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Very clean and very spacious flat in a quiet residential area of Atina (Athenes), within 10 minutes drive in straight line of downtown Athenes and Acropolis. Own private parking space, enjoyable local town. I checked the mattresses and they were spot on (sorry, I can't help it!). A/C very efficient and nice big screen with video games for demanding kids. Plenty of air in this flat due to large windows all around. Dimitris was very helpful, caring and professional. We felt he was our backup out there in this foreign city.
Thank you Dimitris for making our stay perfect! The apartment is very nice, clean, small, but perfect for two adults plus baby. In the kitchen we found everything what we needed for the first day! Thank you again and see you next time we'll come to Athens.
There was good communication in the weeks leading up to our stay with Dimitirs. Dimitris contacted me, by e-mail, prior to our arival in Athens with invaluable information in relation to the apartment but, more importantly, our journey from the airport to the apartment, given our long flights from Australia. Dimitris greeted us warmly at the apartment and made sure that we were comfortable and settled (showed us around and answered all questions, to our satisfaction). Dimitris provided us with all the essentials and we quickly located important material in relation to shopping, maps of Athens and the like. As requested, Dimitris had organised wireless internet for our convenience. Dimitris also provided us with details related to a dedicated parking spot for the apartment (later confirmed by e-mail communication). Dimitris also provided us with the option of further heating for the apartment, if required (as things turned out, it wasn't, as the weather in Athens was glorious, even in December). During our 3 week stay, Dimitris was always available. The apartment is spacious, clean and well appointed. It quickly feels like home. It is located in a quiet and safe area in Athens (even walks later of an evening, presented no issues), with only a short distance to the shops (supermarket and other stores with wonderful cakes) and then the commercial district and the metro at Maroussi. In sum, Dimitris is a lovely person with an excellent apartment who ensured that our stay in Athens was more than pleasant. We are already planning a further stay in Dimitris' apartment, as a matter of some priority. Thank you so much, once again, Dimitris. See you soon. Bill
Our stay at Dimitri's was great. The apartment is spacious, elegant, well kept and very clean. It is well equipped with everything one might need: from modern appliances, great linens to little things like coffee, tea, soap...
Dimitri is a very attentive host. He waited for us on arrival and showed us around. He provided everything we needed and clarified all our questions.
The apartment is conveniently located in a quiet residential area but also close to one of the main commercial areas in Northern Athens (Maroussi), with lots of coffee shops, restaurants, tavernas, bars, shops, public transportation... all within walking distance. Going downtown to the Acropolis area is only a metro ride away.
We had a really good time. We spent one week here with our 2 kids (a toddler and a baby). There are plenty of green spaces around with little playgrounds for kids as well.
We'd come back!
This was my second stay In Dimitris' apartment, and once again I could not fault it. It is clean, spacious and bright and extremely well appointed, with all you could need for a very happy stay. It is situated in a very pleasant,t quiet part of Athens, and yet is easily accessible by public transport. Dimitris was kind enough to provide a very nice welcome pack. He is a very thoughtful host, and I look forward to future visits.
This is a lovely apartment in a beautiful leafy residential part of Athens. I was sorry not meet Demitris, but his "standin" could not have been more helpful. It was such a charming touch to find the 'fridge stocked with a welcome pack. There was lots of useful information provided, and even some tickets for the local bus! I would loved to have stayed longer, and hope to visit again.
We spent three perfect days in Athens over New Year 2011/2012. The flat in Maroussi was a perfect alternative to a hotel room. Our fAmily with three children aged 14, 12 and 11 felt very comfortable in this really luxurious flat. Even some drinks and food were available upon arrival. A supermarket in walking distanced allowed us to equip ourselves with the required meals and drinks. Dimitris is a very pleasant landlord and was available at any time in case of any requirements. W-LAN and a X-BOX game console helped to cover some unused time in between. In case we travel again to Athens, this flat will be our choice. A clear recommendation.
Dimitris is such a great host and the apartment is great! Upon our arrival we found a bottle of wine, a cartoon of milk and orange juice and all different kinds of snacks. We thought that was very thoughtful. The apartment is really nice, well equipped and in a very convenient location. There was plenty of clean linen and kitchenware. It really felt like home. We are looking forward to using his apartment in the future. Thank you Dimitri!
Dimitris is a great guy, willing to help everyone. He can be a little grouchy but only because he wants to do everything perfect! I have seen the apartment and is really very huge and spacious in a nice and quiet area. I'm sure you are going to love it, specially if you have a family.
