Hi there! I'm Nina, and I'm mainly on here as a guest, not a host, seeing as I am but a university student living with my parents! My parents and I emigrated from Russia to Canada when I was little.. It's because of them that I have caught the travel bug! I've been fortunate enough to see many places in my life and it makes me very restless, always itching to go somewhere new. I've so far enjoyed France, Spain, Germany, Cuba, Russia (of course), the US, Mexico, and Italy.. Spain has my heart after my high school orchestra toured there. Besides studying business in university, I am an avid film lover, Latin dancer, and dog lover. I own one very adorable German Shepherd mutt named Andy.
My travel style is one that is inquisitive and interactive. I enjoy learning languages and am moderately alright at speaking Spanish (not beginner but not totally fluent), as well as speaking more or less fluent Russian, but will do my best to learn as much of a local language as possible before my visit. I don't think of myself as a shy person when I'm confident enough in the language and I can be quite an extrovert at times! The best part about traveling, in my opinion, is that you can have a clean slate with whomever you meet, and if you embarrass yourself, you don't have to see the people around you ever again afterwards :-P so why not take risks? I love all sorts of music and dance and am a big fan of going to museums and parks, whether on my own or with others.
My life motto would probably be one that I found on a fortune cookie: The heart is wiser than the intellect.
