I have a very nice house that is entirely too big for me. Usually I spend most of my time traveling around the world on ships. When I am at home I do like entertaining, Movies, Mini Coopers, Coffee, and good BBQ.

My stay at Peter's home was awesome. He is a generous host with a very interesting collection of maritime and collector prints and historical photos thoughout the "hideaway". The suite is amazing with a huge space, comfortable king size bed, a spa style tub, inviting patio and great antiques. It's in a beautiful, walkable neighborhood close to lots of places to visit and eat. Peter was helpful in making good recommendations on where to go and even invited me to join his family for dinner one night. Though I was busy with friends while in Denver, I thought it was a genuinely nice offer. Peter sent me off each moring with a fresh brewed cup of coffee and a fun conversation. I highly recommend this as a great place to stay; I felt most welcome!
Great! Great! Great! Peter could not have been more generous and helpful. This home is everything all of the other reviewers said and more-- tastefully renovated, quiet historic neighborhood, beautiful parks and cultural venues, free street parking. Peter is an artist and is surrounded by artists. His eclectic collection of art, furnishings and the materials used in the renovation make for an amazing home.
I left the french doors open to the balcony my entire stay, enjoyed the sunken whirlpool tub, skylights and high ceilings, amazing coffee, and newly upgraded king bed. Book it.Stop looking, this is the place to stay. One more thing. Before I even landed back in Ohio Peter had let me know I forgot something, asked which address to send it to, shipped it and sent me the confirmation number. Five stars are not enough.
This was my first stay with AirBNB and I must say that it was over the top. Great location and amenities. My room was comfortable and quiet. And the patio deck just off the room was very relaxing. Kudos to Peter. He is a GREAT host---attentive to details and very prompt in his followup. His location comes with my highest recommendation.
The place was as unique and interesting as the pictures portrayed. It was very easy to find and upon arrival we were greeted with open doors (literally). We were given a tour of the place, offered a cocktail from a vast array of spirits, and was invited to try a piece of fresh homemade banana bread. The room we stayed in seemed like an attic that was remodeled to a room with a huge restroom and a walk-in closet. The layout and the ambiance of the room were very homey. We were pretty much left alone. We came and went as we pleased; almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. Everything we needed or wanted was provided and available in the room. The only thing we were taken back on was the couple of spider webs we saw throughout the room, mostly higher up on the fixtures; other than that the place was wonderful.
The previous reviews sum up my experience at PJ's. It was a super comfortable, interesting home and the most generous, laid back host you'll ever meet.
The house and the host are a wonderful combination of joy to behold. I highly recommend them both. A lovely patio in the back provides a restful place to put your feet up, drink a glass of wine and have amusing conversation.
The host , Peter, provides the most amazing stories if prompted to do so.
The place definitely exceeded our expectations. The room is a master suite with a huge bathroom and balcony. But the best part about staying there is really Peter. Excellent host, great conversations, super laid back. Best place we have stayed at while traveling and using AirBNB hands down.
This was my first stay at a B&B in Denver and I hit the mother-load ....pure gold!!. PJ was a thoughtful and gracious host.He was great to talk to and has good suggestions for things to do in the area.
The house is cute and cozy and in a very lovely neighborhood and close to the Denver Botanical Gardens...not to be missed.
I look forward to staying there again soon. Thanks PJ.
I can not say enough good things about Peter and his home. He was a very gracious host and invited me to join in his plans on each night of my stay. The location was amazing and just 2 block from the Denver Botanical Gardens, rental bicycles, several parks and a free bus stop for exploring the city. The home is simply amazing. The bedroom offered to guests is actually the master suite and was a recent addition the the historic home. The private bath and walk in closet adjacent to the bedroom, adorned with antiques and historic photographs of Denver, made me feel like I was in a very high end, boutique hotel. Peter is well traveled and an educated host who kept me constantly entertained with stories. I felt so comfortable and at home, I was sad to leave. I am an airbnb host and have stayed in many locations, both domestic and internationally. This is, so far, my favorite spot for location, interaction with the host (who actually is interested in travelers and is not just doing this for the money), and the awesome space provided (master suite - much more swanky than my own home or most hotels). If you are considering staying in Denver - look no further - stay here for at least a few days or longer - you will be pleasantly surprised!
Wow! PJ has one of the most beautiful homes in Denver, it was such a treat walking into his lovely abode. Not only was his house warm and inviting, he was also quite the host. My boyfriend and I ended up talking with PJ for hours. We unfortunately traveled during snowfall so we were a bit snowed in which turned out to great. We all ended up playing video games in his amazing movie theater while drinking saki and whiskey. My boyfriend couldn't have asked for a better day! We only stayed two nights which went by too fast, next time we want to stay longer. Since his house is in the Cherry Creek district, we were not far from anything. Best location and overall my favorite airBnB.
We loved Peter. What a wealth of life experience he shared with such panache. We would welcome him back any time.
Above and beyond guest! Offered to go out of his way and beyond his contractual duties. Left the place so clean I thought he had not stayed here. Excellent communications and very respectable. I would honor Peter's return anytime!
Peter (aka The Captain) is a wonderful person; he is caring and thoughtful and funny. I enjoy all the little things he does to make his friends feel special (ex: postcards from distant ports). The Captain's house is one of the most beautiful and fascinating places I've spent time in. It is a warm, welcoming home and you can spend hours looking at the unique trinkets he has scattered (artfully) around the house. Needless to say, his taste is quite impressive for a man (ahem). I recommend Peter for all the reasons people love to travel: the stories, the sites, and the pure love of adventure.
Peter, or Weasel as we call him, is a very kind and organized human. He easily makes friends and provides amazing avenues for personal expression.
Alright, let me just start by saying, I did not want to leave! I lived in "The Captains" house for 2 months. The photos do not even begin to do this house justice. It's wonderful! The bathroom and "walk in" closet are AMAZING. The bed is really comfortable and the balcony is huge.
Peter has the most interesting things in his home, you will never be bored in his house. There was never an uncomfortable moment while I stayed at the house, from the moment I walked in the door it felt like "home".
Peter is also wonderful! So many nights with great conversations. He was so welcoming, kind, and informative! I can honestly say I made a new friend. I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to stay in this beautiful home and meet this stand up guy. :)
Peter is a totally stand-up guy and you will LOVE staying at his amazing house near Cherry Creek. I spent six weeks at his home during the summer in 2012 and loved it--everything from the gorgeous and spacious kitchen that allowed for cooking and entertaining to the 'princess room' (the bedroom shown in his ad). The bedroom was very spacious with high ceilings, a walk-out deck that looked out over the back yard, and a bathroom with all the elegance and convenience of both a whirlpool tub as well as a shower. The lighting is great and the room overall relaxing!
The neighborhood is located between Cherry Creek and Congress Park, so one has access to the haute couture shopping in Cherry Creek as well as all the fabulous restaurants and fun bars located there. The Botanical Gardens are within walking distance! And in the summer, one can go for a swim at the Congress Park Pool, play a game of tennis, or just relax on the lawn. There are many other things nearby such as all the independent and funky cafes, restaurants, and shops located on 6th.
The neighborhood area is lovely with many very expensive, upscale homes with architecture to impress. Anyone interested in tree-lined boulevards with beautiful architecture would absolutely love staying in this part of town. One can take a stroll on foot or borrow one of Peter's bicycles from the garage to ride around (there are even bike lanes!). I felt totally safe staying in the area, and there was always ample parking available.
If you are looking to stay in a house as opposed to a hotel, I highly recommend Peter's house. You'll have the convenience of staying in a home while paying slightly less than you would for a hotel of similar decor or star-rating. I give this place an A+!
My brother has traveled extensively because of his job at sea. I have always been impressed with how well he gets along with people from every walk of life...from any part of the world. He is a very social person who recognizes good qualities to everyone. He has incredible stories to share from his excursions, and because he grew up in central Denver, he has great advise on what to do in town. While I have participated in exchanges with international artists, I have recruited him to host a few. I hear nothing but good stories about his hospitality. People not only love his space, but his easy going nature and fun spirit.
