Response from Ryan:
Hi Stephanie, We are both really sorry to hear about this and thank you for your response. It is rare that we get called away for family reasons but it happened over the short time you were with us hence rather than cancelling, which maybe after your review we should have done, we still tried to accommodate you and let you know that we wouldn't be there for one night of your two night stay.
We had clean linen waiting for you and our friend kindly let you in and tidied away the previous linen from the room and checked that the room was clean.
We have to apologise about the internet but during our conversations prior to you arriving we let you know it had stopped working. This was out of our control as a semi had taken the cables down and like a lot of things in NYC it takes a while for them to be fixed!! We can confirm it was fixed the day you left (which didn't help you) and did try to help by advising you that there was free internet just across the street - not ideal but I know that you popped across when you sent us an email.
We left a Not for Tourists Guide which a lot of people have commented on because it gives them nuggets of information on places to visit and things to do. However, we will take on board your comments about tour information.
As for your rating we have rated you well as a guest because we have no reason not to - we are fair hosts and just sorry that we weren't here enough to make your stay better.
Thanks again. E & R
