Overall, Tess was an excellent host. I asked her several questions prior to our trip which she answered promptly; she sent a letter days in advance with all of the information we needed to know; she even left us snacks, drinks, and brochures.
The apartment was clean, quiet, and comfortable. And because there were no problems, we didn't need to contact her once during our stay.
I would recommend this place, for sure.
Both Tess and her home were wonderful. Tess left out some goodies for us, and provided a list of nearby restaurants, activities and conveniences we might need - which definitely helped us jump right into our stay in Boston. Tess was available to answer a few questions over the weekend, and in general was a great host. The apartment is situated in a great spot, just 10 minutes from the T and right next to the Boston Commons. It's a great jumping off point for seeing all the rest of city. I would absolutely reccomend Tess's place to anyone looking to be right in the thick of things in Boston.
Tess was a great host. The apartment was clean and what we expected based on the listing. The rooftop and location of the apartment were the best parts of our visit. The view was incredible, even better than the pictures. We did have some issues with checking in. The key was not left for us at the front and we were not given an entrance card to get in and out of the building. However, Tess was very accommodating for the mistake and was willing to go above and beyond to resolve the issue.
Molly, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay and the roof deck. As we discussed, we had let you know prior to coming that the key would be left for you within the apartment rather than with the concierge. Apologies for any misunderstanding.
Tess is a wonderful host! Her communication was fast and her instructions were easy to follow. A flawless check-in process and the location was SUPERB! I would definitely rent this place again on my next trip to Boston. Thank you Tess and Jeff!
This place is AMAZING! Everything about our stay was wonderful and truly felt like home. Tess did an incredible job of providing us a clean, and comfortable place in one of the most exciting neighborhoods in Boston. Tess went above and beyond our expectations by providing us a list of attractions, bars/restaurant recommendations, and activities to keep us busy. She even left us a welcome basket equipped with snacks, and brochures for the many different activites Boston has to offer!
Did I mention the neighboorhod? This place is right in the middle of Beacon Hill, directly accross from the famous State House. There is a beautiful deck on the rooftop, complete with picnic tables and a view of the city that is truly undescribable. This is a wonderful location, and an amazing apartment!
My only regret was not being able to personally thank Tess. Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Thank you again!
Tess was very helpful about passing along information for the listing. The apartment was beautiful and in a great location. Definitely check out the roof deck!
Tess was a great host and if anyone has an opportunity to stay at one of her listings then by god, do it. We stayed for 5 nights in her Beacon Hill apartment in early July of 2014.
LOCATION: the apartment is in Beacon Hill, which is great for exploring Boston. You're minutes away from groceries, convenience stores, coffee shops, and the MBTA subway ("The T"). You're also across the street from the start of the Freedom Trail, and also across from Boston Commons, a huge park in the middle of Boston. We couldn't have asked for a better location for first time visitors like us to stay in Boston. It is also a SAFE neighbourhood FYI. Bring walking shoes as you're going to put miles on during the day.
APARTMENT: Tess's apartment is in a very old building close to the Old State House as evident by her pics. It is also extremely CLEAN FYI which is a plus. The apartment has everything you need during a stay in Boston, from a kitchen to living area and comfortable bed. It is approx 600 sq ft, which I imagine is far bigger than any hotel room you'd get in the area, and also equivalent to any big city apartment/condo. She also has A/C which was a godsend as it was hovering around the 40 deg C / 100 deg F mark when we were there. The apartment has a concierge from 8AM-midnight. Laundry is not in the condo itself but is conveniently located on the same floor as the apartment.
HOST: Tess was a great host. The keys were conveniently left for us, and Tess gave a great recommendation of restaurants, grocery stores and bars to explore. Towels and clean sheets were left for us. She even left out some snacks, coffee and tea for our arrival. Protip: Go to Figs - best pizza ever.
All in all a very positive experience. Great apartment, amazing location and a great host. A++++ and highly recommended. Thanks for the stay Tess!
Tess was very warm in all her communications with me. I loved meeting her and her mother. They were so lovely to get to know a bit and connect. I appreciated that they communicated so kindly with us about something that wasn't working the way it is supposed to in their cabin. It was very sweet of them to be so understanding and flexible about it.
Tess and Jeff were fantastic guests - no trouble at all - hope your trip to Wilsons Prom was great - thanks for being great guests
Excellent guests - we would have them back anytime.
Tess and Jeff were again, model guests in every way: respectful, courteous & tidy. They are certainly welcome back anytime!
It's hard to imagine a lovelier guest for my first time hosting a patron of Airbnb. Tess was delightful! I hope other Airbnb hosts get to share their homes with Tess -- she was the perfect guest indeed.
