Dakin is a high-powered entrepreneur. Very interesting young man.
He was considerate and left the studio in great shape. I would be happy to have him back.
Dakin was great, a young successful enterprising man. Very clean and communicative, you're lucky to have him as a guest.
We're thankful that all of our guests before and after Dakin's stay have been so happy! We're really glad they have overlooked his horrible and inaccurate review.
Dakin and his group came to New Orleans during a freak spell of extreme cold weather ( well documented in the media) which we called him about 2 days before his arrival. As the listing states, apt. does not have central heat ( rarely need it in New Orleans!)
We went to a lot of extra effort and expense to make sure they were warm. There was a heater in every room! Even the bathrooms! We turned them on well before they arrived and upon arrival several guests said they were TOO warm and turned then off!
If Dakin had made any effort to look at the listing pictures or read the description or LISTENED when we told him - he would have known this is a ground level apt. with lower ceilings ( he actually chose the bedroom with lowest ceiling height) and while each bedroom has a window, they are small. The lighting in the apartment is excellent - all you have to do is turn them on.
While it's not a palace - his term "shabby basement" is way off the mark. And he failed to mention how clean the space is.
As far as his " 'can't plug too many things in ..."
We only warned him about plugging in 2 heaters into the same outlet as that is dangerous in ANY situation! There are plenty of electrical outlets in every room ( except "rustic room").
"Rustic Room" is our term for a 4th bedroom in the apt which does not have power in the room itself. It's generally not used except in warm weather and people actually really like it cause we hang lanterns, etc. Dakin wanted more private spaces for his group of 6 single men, though we have had up to 10 singles very comfortably in the 1800 sq.ft apt. We offered this to him as an option and were VERY CLEAR to Dakin the room had no power. He chose it! For him to later complain about it is absurd.
Dakin received keys immediately upon his arrival - there was NO 5 Hours where "we wouldn't let him in", that's just straight up not true! There were still extra blankets in the washer/dryer ( they take a long time). When his other guests arrived they went out to dinner and when they returned all was done.
Everything Dakin complained about in his review - not once did he speak to us on ANY of it during his stay! We live next door!
We did speak to one his group several times who said everything was great!
If it was so horrible that Dakin would actually tell potential guests "do not stay here" WHY DID HE NOT SAY ANYTHING DURING HIS STAY? Dakin is not a good listener or communicator,we cannot recommend him as a guest.
I think this raving review's incoherence speaks for itself, particularly in the context of seeing all the other reviews of me. They were terrible hosts and a disappointment to the Airbnb community.
I would recommend this guest.
Dakin was a nice young gentleman that is very polite and independent. He was clean and considerate and he is welcomeI back back anytime.
