Adrienne Parks and Bill Bowman live in the Garden District where we write novels and produce records and design websites. We happily share our home with two dogs, three cats, and discerning guests.
Again I had a wonderful experience thanks to Adrienne and Bill. I loved the Haunted Room it's spacious and filled with interesting books and stuff!
My friend and I had an extraordinary experience in New Orleans thanks to Adrienne and Bill! Wonderful hosts! We had such a great time and want to come back as soon as possible!!
Addrienne was a great host and the house is a gorgeous as the pictures portray it to be. The house was clean, we enjoyed the use of the facilities and dining rooms in the house. Her and her husband were warm and friendly, giving us an overview of places to go and suggested a great live jazz music Strip on frenchmen st that I enjoyed. I met another Japanese couple there, he overheard me playing the piano and decided to get his guitar and we had a small jam session. I was thinking, "this would never happen in a hotel". The house is In a great location, putting us literally 5-10min from all of the action in the city. Esp Canal/Bourbon st. .
Overall, it was a great experience. It was my first Airbnb experience and I must say a good one. I will be using Airbnb more and hopefully visiting the P.B Mansion again.
This was our first airbnb experience and it was a real joy. Adrienne and Bill have set the bar very high for future experiences. Their home is warm and welcoming and both are extremely knowledgeable about the area. Each time we returned to the home, we found some new art piece in the house. The room was huge and we loved its location. Two blocks away from a public bus stop and getting around using the public transit system was a breeze.Adrienne was most helpful with music spots. If you happen to be there on a Saturday morning, head up to Tracy's on Magazine Street. They are selling doughnut from a pop-up doughnut shop. We had bacon and praline.
Very lovely and knowledgeable couple. They were a delight to stay with and would certainly stay again. The library room was amazing in terms of the vast array of CD's, books, and DVD's Every day we looked through new and interesting ones; At night we had the luxury of watching some of the great DVD's from the shelves. Adrienne and Bill are a wealth of knowledge about many things including their town!!!! They were both very willing to help us in any way to enjoy our stay.
Although I have spent considerable time in New Orleans throughout my life I can’t say any of the places I’ve stayed made me feel more like I was in New Orleans than I did during my stay at the Park Bowman Mansion in the Garden District of the Big Easy. I really don’t know where to begin describing this remarkable home of character, history and fabulous location. The décor is, well beyond words. One can only stay here to begin to comprehend the delightful atmosphere it has to offer. But no matter which room you are in, you have no doubt that you are in an authentic, historical New Orleans Home. A feature that really surprised me was their clean, well-maintained swimming pool. The Owners, Adrienne and Bill are organized, informative, and once you start talking with them, very cool people with fascinating backgrounds in various aspects of art and culture. The restaurants and entertainment of the Garden District are 5 minutes walk away. We parked our car on the street during our entire stay and did not move it, nor did it suffer any security issues. It’s a safe neighborhood. We saw several young Mothers walking their baby strollers, young men and ladies out for evening runs, and everybody seems to own and walk their dogs throughout the dog friendly Garden District. To get around (i.e. the traditional foray to the Café Du Monde for breakfast or whatever one would refer to Beignets as) we purchased $3 all day bus/streetcar passes from the bus driver. New Orleans Transit Authority (NOTA) has a great mobile phone ap that enabled us to navigate by foot from the Park Bowman Mansion front steps to the nearest bus or street car stop to board the next transport into the French Quarter or wherever in the Big Easy one cares to venture. The house is guarded (term used tongue in cheek) by two large dogs, one a German Sheppard and the other a Black Lab mix of who we were in constant fear of being loved to death. Although they were quite friendly and loveable when you were done petting them they left you alone, quite well mannered.
We had a magnificent week-end with Adrienne and her husband. They are kind, thoughtful, wonderful hosts !!! What a beautiful house, in a perfect quartier ! Few minutes walking from Magazine Street and not far from the French quarter, frenchman street... And the pool...we have no words to explain how we feel during those few days !
We will remember for ever New Orleans !!!
The library room with the private terrasse was incredible...everything is this house is wonderfull ! Hope we will be back soon and we will gor back the Parks-Bownman Mansion for sure !
Definitely the most beautiful house I've ever been in, but the best of all were the great hosts we had. Adrienne and Bill were so kind and helpfull with us, very nice people! For sure next time in New Orleans I will not stay in any other place.
Thanks for everything!!
Our experience with Adrienne and Bill was great. They received us very warmthly, gave us many advices to what to do and where to go, and were there whenever we needed them. The house it's beautifull, full of details, art work and books. Our room was spacious with a nice bath. The house has a long swimming pool where you can really swim and get some excercise. The neighborhood is very nice. Many historical houses and many places to have good coffee, food and shopping.
We defenitelly recomend this place.
Adrienne and partner were so welcoming and lovely, and friendly whenever we ran into them in the house. Same with the lovely dogs! The house is probably the most amazing place I've ever stayed - a proper mansion with a great pool and beautiful decorations. The location is also fantastic - lots to eat and drink on Magazine Street, and nice shops too, and easy to get downtown or uptown. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone thinking of visiting New Orleans! The room was great - having our own balcony was amazing, and the bed was comfy and bathroom very nice.
Adrienne and Bill are fun, interesting and welcoming people. We used to live down the street and enjoyed visiting on their beautiful porch, passing out candy on Halloween and enjoyed many Mardi Gras parades together!
