I've lived in Austin for just over a year now, and LOVE it! I'm from San Francisco, and have also lived in Seattle. Austin is a very young and energetic town, but mainatins a small town low key feel compare to other major cities.
My boyfriend (he's also from SF) and I live in a two bedroom apartment in central Austin btwn Hyde Park and 35. We live a block from a major grocery store, 24 HR Fitness, Twin Liquors and a few other food/ retail spots. The buildings a little old and out dated, but we've warmed it up and turned it into a charming place. There's a full kitchen and one bathroom. We have a spacious living room with TV and cable/ WiFi to relax after a day of exploring or catch up on cartoons with your morning ceral.
We're out and about alot cause there's always something awesome to do in Austin.
5 Things I can't live with out; red wine, insulin (I'm a type 1 diabetic), flip flops, sunglasses, a good book (I'm always taking suggestions).
I'm obsessed with the Alamo Drafhouse here in Austin. It's the most magical way to watch a movie. The theater has a waitstaff that waits on you through out the movie, and they do a lot of older movies as well as new releases! It's a must on your travels here!
I don't feel like I'll ever make it to all of the venues in Austin, but that's kinda rad! You can walk down Red River, 6th or W 5th and find any and all kinds of music with no cover charge and in expensive drinks. It makes it hard to save money. haha.
I'm a nanny, dog-sitter (not in the apt), house sitter extrodinare! My bf is in construction. We both are huge sports fans, and are fanatic about the San Francisco teams! Go Giants and 49ers!
We just ask that you respect our sapce. We like to go out, and don't expect any one to be as quiet as a mouse when coming home, but treat our space as you want us to treat yours.
Hope to have you stay soon!
