This house is comfortable for a quick stay, but not more than a day or so. The location is a huge negative, mainly because the house sits at the entrance to a larger neighborhood which results in lots of loud music blaring locals driving by at all hours of the night, along being within 200 feet from a very popular and loud locals bar that rocks out until 1am or later most nights (you can't close the windows, because there is no A/C). The house is nicely furnished with comfortable beds and feels very safe with bars on most of the windows and porch.
We had a great stay here - the house is totally charming and the location is absolutely beautiful! A great view, lovely pool - we enjoyed dinner outside every night, and totally relaxed. Everything you need is right there in the house, and it's totally comfortable!
All of our friends who have seen our photos want to go, and we highly recommend!
This is no average cabin in the woods. It's fantastical, amazing, and secluded! Let's start with the beautiful view - this rustic luxe cabin is located at the top of the mountain with breathtaking views . The pool (black bottom which is not only super chic, but keeps the pool warmer) is just perfect for lounging and admiring the scenery. The cabin is decorated and furnished with the most beautiful and carefully thought out pieces. The bedrooms are so comfortable and dressed with fine linens.
The cabin has so much personality - from the vintage mid-century record player to the collected Rimini pottery to the carefully curated coffee table books - it's just an interesting place to spend a week.
Christopher is very hospitable and truly wants you to enjoy the cabin. He saw that my husband was interested in both the guitar and the record player - Christopher encouraged him to use both and made sure he had a pic for the guitar and gave him pointers on how to use the record player.
The Weber grill is a major plus! We spent many nights grilling and lounging in the screened in porch. Christopher told us to go to the Saugerties Smokehouse - which was some of the best fresh meats I've ever had. Also, must mention the fire pit! Perfect for hanging out and making smores.
The no A/C was NOT a problem at all. It's much cooler during the night - it was 55-65 degrees each night. We slept with the windows open and fans on. It was actually refreshing to not be in the A/C - just fresh mountain air.
I HIGHLY recommend trying this cabin out. We will definitely be back next year. My only fear is that people will find out about this jewel of a cabin.....
A very magical place. Wonderfully decorated (pictures don't do justice). It's not a big house, but a perfect size for 2 couples. We cooked or grilled most nights but place is close to some great restaurants in Woodstock as well. House is very isolated so you feel completely cut off from the world. The view is definitely impressive. On the 4th of July we could see distant firework displays for miles around. The house is not air conditioned and can get warm in the afternoon but quickly cools off at night. Even with daytime highs in the 90's we had no trouble sleeping with the breeze through the windows.
Great place. The views are amazing, the cottage itself is comfortable and beautifully renovated. Perfect place to just relax. Very short, easy drive to Woodstock. Cottage is really well-equipped, in terms of things like kitchen gear, towels, iPhone docks, etc. Just an all-around comfortable, fun place.
LOVED Las Iguanas! This place was adorable, a perfect size, and had a great location. Our favorite feature was the Jungle Room! We sat out there every morning and evening having breakfast, drinks, playing cards, listening to music. It's the perfect place to relax and watch the LARGE iguanas hang out in the trees.
Located near town and had some quick eating spots that you could walk to. Also had a parking spot, which is very nice.
Rooms were a great size and the kitchen was perfect for our needs (didn't really cook).
Larissa was a wonderful host and helped us with recommendations and met us at the rental car place to lead us to the place.
Great location in Isabella and off the main road to Esperanza - lovely house with a great back porch. We saw tons of iguanas, as advertised. Larissa was very helpful and responsive. Highly recommended as an alternative to hotels or guesthouses!
