Friendly, helpful and out going person. Happy to help with a smile.
An impeccably clean, quiet room very close to Heathrow Airport. Ms. Roberts was out of town during my stay so I wasn't able to meet her, but the other residents were wonderfully kind and welcoming. I’d recommend it highly, and would gladly stay here again!
Ms. Roberts welcomed me into her home even though arrived late at night from my flight. She was helpful and very kind the next morning when I realized my flight home had been cancelled. I got the pleasure of staying a second night and a chance to see London! The bed is super comfy and the room is small but worked out fine for me and my excessive luggage.
With my bonus day in London I was able to see the main tourist attractions in Westminster and The City. It is a little trek from her place- 10 minute walk to the train, 10 minute train tried to the tube, then about 35 minute tube ride to Westminster, but worked out fine for me! Her place is super accessible to Heathrow which made catching my early flight easy. It took me sometime to figure out how to get form Terminal 5 to her place- because it was late at night- but if you don't mind asking people at the airport it's not too difficult. Or, if you have phone service just call her and she will be happy to help! The wifi is great and Ms. Roberts is very nice to talk with!
Also, my advice is to download the Rick Steves' walking audio guides to your phone or tablet (when you are connected to wifi). Then you can listen to them (without wifi) and get a waking tour of the British Museum, The City, or Westminsteror for free! I had a great time learning the history and seeing the sights without paying a dime! Ms. Roberts thanks for a comfy place to stay!
Quaint neighborhood near Heathrow. Viv met me as arranged for a quick easy check in and all was as advertised. Nice and quiet which is great for a light sleeper like me. Also was very pleased to discover a pub just across the street.
It was a good experience to stay at Vivian's home, the room is exactly as showed in the pict. Clean, tidy and very comfortable. A little kettle, biscuits, coffees and a bottle of water was a good touch. She is very friendly and help to keep the house quiet, what was marvellous because I could sleep very well. Vivian, thank you very much for let me stay in :-)
Great stay in a clean and comfortable room with a friendly and flexible host. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for good value accommodation. Ideal for those undertaking a layover from Heathrow, however may be a tad out of the way for those looking to explore central London. Affordable and comfortable with a lovely helpful lady host.
Easy stay. Room is clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee with a kettle and bottle of water is a nice touch.
Vivienne is friendly and good communication. Would recommend staying again.
Just don't park your car under the tree, pigeons have made a mess of my car!
The room was exactly as advertised. I booked this room for a family member who had an overnight layover at Heathrow. The location was great, and there is a Tesco just a few minutes away to get anything you may need.
The host was nice and friendly. She offered her a ride to the bus station in the morning, but since it was a nice morning, she decided to walk. Thanks for the tea!
The only small minus is the noise from the traffic. It did not disturb her enough to cause any problems. Really light sleepers might have a problem, but with the window closed, it should be fine. Overall, would definitely recommend this place.
Vivienne was so kind and sweet! The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable. She went out of her way to make me feel more comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!
Perfect location to Heathrow Airport, Local Buses and the Underground tube station network. In addition to a nearby Tesco store, there are also a few grocery stores and fast food retailers for your convenience. If you're flying and plan to use a taxi to arrive to the accommodations, I would suggest using the airport taxi courtesy phones, and call a taxi instead of using the black taxi cabs waiting outside. Actually the LHR Express Cars Taxi Service tel. (phone number hidden) was one of the least expensive. The cost should be 15 pounds or less. The black cabs are a complete rip off, so that's why I'm giving prospective guests a heads up. Also, if you're looking to withdraw money from an ATM, you may want to wait until you can find a bank, as all the ATM machines at Heathrow Airport are owned and operated by Travelex Money Exchange company, which charges you a fee (another rip off). So, I waited until the next day when I found a bank. I'm writing all these tidbits of info here in hoping it might save at least one person some money.
Getting back to the review, Host Roberts was so very nice and gracious. She offered me a meal upon arrival including some of her special Bakewell Tarts :D They are indeed VERY good. I had more than my share during my 2 week visit. She also provided me with a pre-loaded Oyster Card that I topped off and used to get around. That card will save you lots of money if you plan on using public transportation. She also provided me with several tour guides/pamphlets/maps which really helped out. The most important one you will need to get around London is the Underground Tube Color Coded Map.
I found that the best way to get around the heart of London and go sightseeing is to simply pay 30 pounds for a 2 day (48 hour) Big Bus Tour (not the original bus tour), and hop on and off at your preferred destinations. It was worth every penny, and Host Roberts had supplied me with the brochure that helped me in my sightseeing plans.
I stayed in the single room, which is absolutely fine for short stays, but if you're staying for long term you may consider the larger room. Whatever your decision may be, you will certainly enjoy the company of Host Roberts.
In closing, I would like to mention that Host Roberts also went out of her way to drop me off at the Airport on my departure day in the wee hours of the morning. Thank you again for everything! Your hospitality was very much appreciated :D
