I enjoyed staying at Khalid's place for one night. It's a great place for the price close to subway stations and everything else that East Harlem offers. Khalid was very respectful and gave me good advices for food and events around Harlem and Manhattan.
Khalid was very responsive as I was making the reservation. He was also welcoming once I arrived. He helped me get settled. While I was there the internet went out. He detected the issue and brought it to my attention before I even had a chance to ask him about it.
I have a good time at Khalid place, nice and clean place, near by subway station
Stayed at Khalid's for the one night. Was a very nice host, provided me with some useful information about the nightlife in New York. Was in the thick of Harlem not far from anything. Room served it purpose!
The place is well communicated and adequate for a person. Khalid is a nice person and the communication was smooth.
Khalid was nice host. He welcomed me, show me around apartmant. Room is small but nice. Its perfect for someone to see nyc on a budget.
I had a really good time in Harlem. I really enjoyed staying with Khalid. The room is quite comfortable and the whole flat (kitchen, bathroom, living room) is very clean. The room as well as the kitchen is perfectly set up with everything you need. Khalid is such a nice guy. When we met each other we had good and interesting conversations and it was always nice to talk with him.
Khalid was very helpful and always answered my text messages promptly.
I also liked staying in Harlem. It's different than living in downtown for example. Everything you need is around and you can catch the metro very quick (just a short walk to the station and just a few stops away from Times Square). At all I just can recommend to stay with Khalid. It was a very good experience living in Harlem and I had a really good time.
Khalid was polite and considerate. He kindly allowed me to stay at his flat at last minute's notice. The room is quite small and straight forward.
All went well. I stayed in the small 2nd bedroom, which was quite comfortable and perfect for my needs. It is located in a safe, relatively quiet neighborhood and is convenient to public transit... only 2 or 3 blocks from the subway and major bus routes, so getting around the city and to/from the airport quickly wasn't a problem. There are also plenty of stores nearby, if you want to grab a quick lunch or a snack.
Khalid is a good host who seems to strike a good balance between being being helpful and allowing for privacy. Once he gave me the tour and made sure I was comfortable, he pretty much let me do as I pleased. When I had questions, he answered them politely. He responds to text messages promptly and works with you to coordinate your arrival. I also liked the fact that he's not bothered about when you come and go, as I did come in late one night... quietly, of course.
Overall, this was a good experience and I was treated respectfully and professionally at all times (even when I had problems with public transit and didn't check out when I was supposed to. I apologized and we quickly settled the matter based on the agreement, and without any fuss of conflict). The apartment was cozy, nicely decorated, and absolutely immaculate as far as cleanliness goes. I really don't have any complaints at all.
I highly recommend this place for anyone who is traveling solo and wants to be in the city.
I loved staying with Khalid! The room was perfectly set up with an ironing board, closet, desk, trash, and futon (which felt just like a normal bed!) The bathroom was very clean and the kitchen had some things to cook with and plenty of refrigerator space (also love that there was recycling- it's hard to find in NYC).
I didn't see Khalid much but when I did we had interesting conversations and he was always super nice.
I also loved staying in Harlem- I was right by a great juice shop, Lenox coffee, and a short walk to Streetbird Rotisserie (to name a few). And when I wanted to head down South, I was super close to the 2,3,4,5, and 6.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend Khalid's apartment to anyone!
