Bebvenuti a casa Gilda!
"Or mi giova, da questo altero scoglio
Delle Sirene, udire
Gli augelli gai languire,
E il lor dolce cordoglio
Sfogar con vario e con canoro stile
Chiamando il lieto e dilettoso aprile"

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon, and our experience was incredible! The house was fantastic, the location was even better than expected (right in the heart of Marina Grande) and it was just a short walk up into town, so we felt like we could go anywhere we wanted. We fell in love with the marina we were in more than anything else. The entire little village was filled with friendly people willing to help us out whenever we needed.
The one negative about this place is that Silvia wasn't particularly available. We never met her, and it took us 45 minutes or more to get a hold of her when we arrived in the marina to get someone to come let us in. Not the biggest deal, but when you've been travelling with heavy bags all day and you just want to get in your place and change clothes to go get dinner, it can be a little stressful. Thankfully, the local restaurant Le 5 Sorelle down in the marina (owned and operated by 3 sisters who seem to always be there) was incredibly helpful! They got us in touch with Silvia, and truly showed warmth, kindness and generosity. If you have trouble getting into the place, definitely go talk to them and they can help sort everything out!
Overall, this place is fantastic! We are so happy that we stayed here, and will definitely stay there again next time we go to Sorrento.
Casa Gilda was absolutely amazing - we could not have asked for better accommodations in Sorrento. The location is superb, right on Marina Grande near several fantastic restaurants. The view from the roof deck of Casa Gilda is unbeatable- we were on the private deck every morning and evening of our stay! If we have the chance to go back to Sorrento we will absolutely stay here again. I cannot recommend it enough!
Casa Gilda was the best place we could have stayed in Sorrento. It's tucked away on a quiet pedestrian-only street in Marina Grande, a local fishing cove isolated from Sorrento's primary port. Our stay was wonderful - we spent some evenings lounging on the rooftop balcony watching the sunset!
We had five people and slept comfortably. We enjoyed the little cafe below the store, too - we had chocolate croissants and cappuccinos every morning.
Takes about 5-7 minutes to walk to Sorrento's tourist district, and it's worth the walk to be tucked away in a quieter place by the sea.
Highly recommend staying there!
In general our experience was very positive at Casa Gilda:
We did not have problem to reach the meeting point indicated by Silvia. The house was exactly how we expected it has a queen size bed up stairs with a complete bathroom and a beautiful balcony with view to the Sorrento's sea.
Down stairs we had two big sofa-beg a full bathroom and a small kitchen, there is also a big refrigerator and a washer machine..
Only inconvenient is that u need to reach the house going up some stair that can be very hard for seniors or people with heart/knees problems... The upstairs room has the sealing in diagonal so is quite uncomfortable for adults and u have much chance to hit ur head...
Overall we had a great experience!
Silvia's apartment was nice and comfortable and we enjoyed our staying.
Everything was perfect except for the absence of the internet connection. We booked this apartment because the internet access was promised and we were very disappointed.
Also we were a bit worried about our check in because Silvia hadn’t sent us the exact address of the restaurant where we would meet her.
I should also add that there is only one bed on the first floor, I think it's important for a mixed group of people.
Besides those moments everything was excellent and we fell in love with Sorrento, Marina Grande and hope to return there.
A charming and beautiful home in a quaint and picturesque fishing village. The view was absolutely beautiful and the balcony was perfect. It was a wonderful location and a perfect base for our daily excursions from Sorrento. It was easy to get to with our gps. We were instructed to go to the Seven Sisters restaurant where a friendly man met us with the key within 10 minutes of us arriving. The home had everything that we needed and was the perfect size. There was a fruit market and a small supermarket right down the lane, as well as small restaurants around the marina. The walk to The piazza in Sorrento only took about 20 minutes through back streets, which was a very pretty walk. We happened to be there on Good Friday so we had the chance to see the procession through the town. We had a car, so parking was a bit tricky especially in the evenings when the restaurants were busy, but we managed. The hydrofoils to Capri and Ishca depart from Marina Piccola which took us about 20 minutes to drive to. We loved the pretty fountain that was steps from our door, we filled our water bottles daily. Overall this was a picture perfect place to end our two week vacation in Italy and we would highly recommend it!!
Casa Silva is an unusual place, reasonably priced, in a great spot in Marina Grande. Marina Grande is a little way out of central Sorrento but, in our opinion, this was a good thing as it felt more authentic than the more touristy centre.
There are local restaurants, a fruit store and a supermarket to buy food if you want to eat in. There's also a local bus stop which takes you to the centre if you prefer not to walk (although it really isn't a long walk). Marina Grande is very small and friendly, we even spoke to a local taxi driver who we booked to take us from our door to Naples airport. We stayed for 3 nights and the apartment had everything we need including sugar, tea and coffee.
Our only criticism would be the slightly damp smell caused by the shower area which does not have a curtain or door. However once you open up the place and air it, it does improve. We decided not to use the wardrobe though because of this.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Overall great value, nice place and lovely position!
An unusual place in a very beautiful spot directly on Marina Grande and a great location to explore the area.
It is a bit difficult to find but Sylivia was kind enough to pick us up and lead the way.
Communication with her was always good and the place is very tastefully decorated. Slight problem is the shower area, which is rather wet.
The local paople around us were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere really relaxed.
we spend a month in Italy, this was the most expensive, it also was the
very hard to locate
parking was 25.00 euros/nite
we never found Silva, only her young son who didn't speak much english
very poor quality room
I would never recomend or stay here again
