Amazing experience! Earl was a fantastic host and great guy. Earls apartment and Harlem in general is a great way to get the authentic New York feel. The apartment is close to the subway and is very easy to get into the heart of NYC. It was well worth the effort. Apartment was very clean and had everything we needed! Thanks Earl. We'll be back! Brett and Carissa
Earl's house locates in a historical and beautiful community. The rooms are cozy and spacious, with convenience in traffic and living. Earl is so nice and quite, And I feel very welcomed and comfortable in this place
Earl is very nice and easygoing. The app is full of Harlem atmosphere. We will be back
The host was very welcoming and a pleasure to meet. He was unobtrusive and made us feel like we were in our own home. The apartment is as described and in a wonderful location. It is in a quiet neighborhood close to subways and supermarkets with a variety of eateries only a short walking distance away. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
I’ve stayed chez Earl almost 3 wonderful weeks. He is a great host, friendly, correct and very responsive. In the heart of Harlem, in a good vibe middle class street that felt safe day & night, the apartment has nice spaces, good light and well preserved brownstone character. It is basically furnished with good and calm taste. There’s everything you need within minutes walking. Taking the subway downtown could take between 30 to 60 min. Good value for a NYC base and a great experience of Harlem culture.
Earl is an easygoing chap and a great host. He made us feel welcome from the very first minute when we contacted him via Airbnb and when we arrived. He even introduced us some of his neighbours on the street when we ran into him after shopping on our first evening in Harlem. Earl is very responsive and answered to all our queries within minutes. So we felt very well taken care of and we trust that Earl would also have helped us if we had run into any trouble during our stay in New York.
We loved Earl's apartment. It looks very much like in the pictures. It is spacy, equiped with everything you need and also very convenient with the subway just 4 streets away and plenty of food stores and restaurants nearby. For breakfast or brunch we often went to the Astor Row Cafe on the corner of Lenox Avenue and 130th street. We felt quite save in the neigborhood. When we returned home late in the evenings, there were still many people on the street, in particluar between 125th and 130th Street where there are quite a lot of restaurants and where people minded their own business. More upwards towards 135th Street there were more younger people just hanging around, but if you ignored them they would generally ignore you too.
I have know Earl Davis for over twenty years. During that time he has proven to be honest, articulate, passionate and intelligent. His house is colorful, exotic and an experience in and of itself and filled with treasures he's collected from his travels abroad.
Earl is one of my dearest friends. Kind and considerate, we have enjoyed many fun times together. I love his place as its always warm and comfortable. One of the most surprising thing entering his residence, is his flair for Art and Color. You can always get a great "Manhattan" feel while visiting him. He truly embodies the best parts of New York with his singular style, taste and personality.
