This apartment was not a great fit for our needs. We found that it lacked the amenities of a hotel or the welcoming features of someone's home and was more like a private hostel. The apartment was large and very clean but pretty beat up (loose tiles in the floor, holes in the wall, dirty couch) and had very bare bones amenities (there was a bath towel and sheets, but bring your own wash cloths, hand towels, blow dryer, etc.). We never met Blake, but she was easy to reach by text message and was responsive and willing to pay for some essentials that the apartment was lacking (dish soap) if we purchased it. The apartment is on 4th Avenue - great location - easy for cabs/subway and close to great shops & restaurants, just be aware that this means that it is also very noisy. All in all not one that we would recommend to a friend or anyone traveling with children.
Blake was a great host, very communicative and helpful and incredible support. The apartment was very clean and is very spacious and convenient. The neighborhood is fantastic as the subway with multiple lines to Manhattan.Highly recommended all. We had a great stay.
We had a good stay at Blake's apartment in Park Slope. We checked in late on a Monday night, check in was smooth, and we were able to settle right in for the night. The apartment is large enough to accommodate 3 people (although 1 person will need to sleep on a couch or the floor), with a big kitchen space and living room space. Blake provided a lot of information about the apartment and the neighborhood, so we didn't have any questions. The only downside to the apartment is that the bedroom looks over 4th Avenue, which is busy at all hours. So it's best to bring earplugs to get a good night's sleep! Other than that it was a great place, and I would recommend it to non-light sleepers...
My boyfriend and I stayed here for Easter weekend. Blake was a wonderful host. It was easy to meet up with her to get the keys and she was always available to give a restaurant recommendation. The apartment was excellent. Very spacious, clean, and had all the things we needed (kitchen tools, towels, internet, etc.). It was close to lots of nice shops and restaurants as well as the subway with multiple lines to Manhattan. You can hear the street noise in the bedroom but it didn't prevent me from sleeping and the blinds were quite effective. I would definitely recommend this place and host!
Blake was a great host, very communicative and helpful. The apartment was very clean and is very spacious and convenient.
I would recommend Blake to anyone who wishes to stay in Brooklyn.
Clean and cozy apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn. All the services you need are close. The area has a nice atmosphere and as a first timer in NYC living at Blake's place was a very good experience. The street has loud traffic but after a while even we Finns got used to it. Blake was very friendly and helpful all the time!
This was a great base of operations for us. The neighborhood is fantastic (wander up to 5th to find a number of great bars and restaurants). The apartment was clean and simple which was perfect for us. Kitchen is well stocked with plates, dishes, cooking vessels, etc. It was just my wife and I but could have accommodated more. Good communication. Strongly recommend. Thanks! Blake
Had a great stay at Blake's place. Cozy, clean apartment (bigger than most hotels I've stayed in NYC) that was the perfect base for exploring Brooklyn and New York. It was easy to find parking and a quick walk to the subway to get around. Super close to lots of cute shops and coffee shops in Park Slope as well as Prospect Park for a stroll.
Bonne alternative économique pour séjourner à New York !
Blake was really nice: a receptive host who responded quickly and was very organised. She made sure we got into the apartment and everything. The place was a little shabbier than the photos make it look, but comfortable, and close to the Atlantic Ave subway and Park Slope shops. We'd recommend it!
Muy buen huésped, que respeta todas las reglas de la casa
Blake y su pareja fueron súper agradables, dejaron todo bien ordenado.
Lovely guest. Very quiet and left the place extremely tidy.
Thanks Blake, it was a pleasure to have you and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip.
Excellent, absolutely no problem, welcome back anytime.
It was nice meeting Blake & MacKenzie, though I didn't have much of a chance to get to know them as they essentially hid in their room the whole time. To that end they were quiet, clean and tidy guests so no complaints.
Blake was a dream guest. So easy, self sufficient - and they left our rooms immaculate. We wish them all the best in their travels. And welcome them back anytime they want.
They so nice
It was our pleasure to host Blake and communication throughout was good. Blake was respectful and left the apartment in great shape. I heartily recommend him and welcome him back anytime.
Great experience hosting Blake's parents. Easy to communicate with, punctual and hip to the rules of the scene. A pleasure to meet and happily welcome back.
