My friend and I visited New York for a week and we had a great time. The neighborhood isn't the nicest looking (mostly industrial and older brick buildings), but it's right by a subway station and never felt dangerous.
Mijin's apartment has all the basics to feel comfortable, plus she let us use her kitchen, which saved us from paying for three meals a day. The bedroom was large enough for all our luggage and the subway map on the wall was helpful in planning our day. She was also kind enough to work around our bathroom schedule for getting ready in the mornings and at night.
We didn't really see her much, but we were mostly out of the house all day. The only issue that we had was with radiators, one in the bedroom that hissed at weird hours, and in the bathroom which caused it to be super hot (Mijin said she was working on fixing it).
On the last day we were able to leave our luggage until our departure time, a huge convenience! Overall we had an awesome time and saved a ton of money compared to any hostel/hotel in Brooklyn. Thanks, Mijin!
Mijin was very friendly, helpful and kind. The room has a good size and it's well kept, a good bed, very clean bed sheets and towels. The neighborhood isn't great, but if you, like me, only need a place to crash, it works fine. 2 blocks only for the L subway line that takes you straight to Union Square or JFK air train!
Mijin was very hospitable and very pleasant. The listing was described accurately, was comfortable and it was a great base for our recent visit to New York. The metro is very close too.
My boyfriend and I stayed with Mijin for 3 nights over our spring break. The area is close to the L train and is about a 18 minute ride into Manhattan, so that was very convenient. The neighborhood, while not an extremely nice area, was safe - there were a lot of young adults and families. Mijin's apartment was clean, but a little drafty during the colder nights. The bed was okay, definitely clean, but decent in quality. She was nice, helpful, and quiet, but uncommunicative at times; she did let us leave our bags at her place on the last day before we had to catch our plane, which we were very thankful for. Mijin's place is worth the cheap price if you're trying to do NYC on a budget, but we probably would stay elsewhere if we came again.
Mijin was a kind and helpful host who helped me with directions around NYC and made me herbal tea when I came down with a heavy cold on the second day of my stay. The area around her apartment was less gentrified than other parts of Brooklyn but I felt perfectly safe coming home at night.
Mijin Lee is a nice host. Room is very confortable and cosy. It was a good choice!
Great host, spacious room - I had a wonderful stay at Mijin's place!
I liked my stay here - close to subway, good area, the apartment was warm, clean and quiet. The host is a very lovely lady, an interesting and amazing person. Definitely recommend.
Merci encore Mijin.
