My name's Brett (but you probably already know that). I was born in South Africa, and spent most of my life there. After earning my BA (I know, I know), I spent some time in the UK, working in a cave (for real. I now have a strange love of being in enclosed spaces 300ft underground. Weird).
I've travelled around Europe (hostels, hostels and more hostels), Southern Africa (best trip? - The epic boys roadtrip to Namibia to do Shakespeare workshops for schools), and recently spent a year working as a Cultural Representative for Africa at Walt Disney World. It. Was. AWESOME.
My favourite place in the whole world is the Kruger National Park in South Africa. It was basically our yearly family vacation when I was younger (with a fancy hotel thrown in to keep my mother happy) and I still relish each chance I get to go there.
This year, my resolution is to read a book a week, since somehow, even though I did a 4 year English degree, I've read almost none of the "classics". I'll catch up though.
I'm a theatre actor and a writer and love playing guitar (oh, the failed teenage band...). I also have a childhood love of professional wrestling (don't judge me). I'm pretty reserved for the most part, but am having a great time. I enjoyed my time in the States so much that I'm aiming to do my MA there later this year.
